The beginning of another darkly romantic and passionate duet from Meghan March, I have fallen madly for Cannon Freeman. This story is captivating and intriguing with a touch of suspense, and a romance that is sizzling with chemistry. It\u2019s a great read and a fantastic beginning to what I\u2019m sure will be an epic love story, and I loved it!<\/p>\n

This book is a spin-off from the Dirty Billionaire <\/i>trilogy. Those who have read those books may remember Cannon as Creighton\u2019s best friend, well this is his story. But this duet can absolutely be read as a standalone story.<\/p>\n

Cannon is the illegitimate son of crime boss, Dominic Casso. He\u2019s never been publically acknowledged as such, but he is very much under the power and control of his father, and he lives his life balancing the fine line of staying legit in the midst of his family\u2019s infamy. Cannon runs an exclusive gentleman\u2019s club (of the non-sexual variety). It\u2019s an actual boy\u2019s club for the richest of New York\u2019s elite where they gather to drink, eat, and boast about their wealth. And though he keeps it clean, Dom and his connections are definitely a part of the scene.<\/p>\n

Drew Carson is an investigative reporter who is looking for answers about the death of her beloved father. She\u2019s taken it upon herself to investigate the Casso family and gets herself a job waitressing at Cannon\u2019s club, her only goal to get close enough to bring them all down.<\/p>\n

From the moment that Drew and Cannon lay eyes on each other, sparks fly. Their attraction is intense, but they both try to fight it, Cannon not wanting to mess with an employee, and Drew knowing that she can\u2019t get involved with somebody connected to a family she\u2019s trying to destroy. But their chemistry proves too strong, and they quickly find themselves all tangled up in each other and feeling all sorts of things that neither of them wanted or expected. It\u2019s a whole new world for them as their lives are flipped upside down, and it\u2019s sweet, spine-tinglingly steamy, and gorgeously emotional.<\/p>\n

But Drew has secrets. And Cannon recognises this. What happens when all is revealed and they are forced to face everything that is between them? It\u2019s all very exciting, and I\u2019m loving the way that the characters are handling their situations, and with the story coming to a dramatic cliffhanger to finish off the book, I\u2019m super excited to get my hands on White Knight<\/i>, coming soon!<\/p>\n

I listened to this as an audiobook, narrated by Sebastian York and Andie Arndt. These are two of my favourite narrators, and they do a fantastic job bringing these characters, and their story, to life. Definitely one I recommend listening to.<\/p>\n

I loved it \u2013 4.5 stars!<\/p>\n
