I love this series so much, and am super excited for any opportunity to revisit with these characters. So, I was thrilled when T.M. Frazier announced that she was writing a novella revisiting original series couple, King and Ray.<\/p>\n

This book takes place after book #9 in the series, Nine<\/a>, but you could safely read it after you’ve finished Preppy, vol 3<\/a>, and there is a brief \u201cintro-fucking-duction<\/i>\u201d provided by a series fave which will recap you on some of the details. But beware that this book will have spoilers if you haven\u2019t read the earlier books.<\/p>\n

Written in dual POV, this book catches us up with King and Ray years after they met. Now happily married with a growing family, they are just as mad for each other as always.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey, Pup.\u201d His voice is a deep bravado that tugs on every nerve-ending in my body. I thought it would fade over time, but it hasn\u2019t. Every day with him only amplifies my feelings.
\nHeart and body.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But trouble is brewing for King and his wife. Not only is a hurricane bearing down on Logan\u2019s Beach, but there\u2019s a new player in town \u2013 one determined to take King\u2019s crown, and they are not afraid to hit close to home in order to do it. King and Ray\u2019s strength will be tested yet again as they go all out to defend what is theirs.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m behind you. All the way. Always.\u201d
\nKing shakes his head and lifts my chin so my eyes meet his. \u201cNo, Pup, your place isn\u2019t <\/i>behind me. It is, and has always been, <\/i>beside me.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There\u2019s a bit of drama unfolding at home as well, and Frazier has given us surprising emotional depth with this story \u2013 one that I thought was beautifully expressed and that shows the incredible connection and deep love between these two amazing characters.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you\u2019re felling weak, I\u2019ll be strong for you. If you can\u2019t see, I\u2019ll be your eyes. If you can\u2019t hear, I\u2019ll guide you. We\u2019re only weak when we\u2019re not a team. Together? We\u2019re un-fucking-stoppable.\u201d
\nMy heart constricts in my chest. \u201cYou take my breath away.\u201d
\nKing holds my gaze. \u201cYou are my fucking breath.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Of course, their family-of-the-heart are right there with them, and Preppy in particular is on freaking fire in this one. Rude, crude, and utterly hilarious, but with a huge heart as always, I love, love, love him! Honestly, I love the whole bunch, and I loved the opportunity to check in with them all – especially seeing them and their kids all together and watching as their brood expands.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s an epilogue which finishes off the story beautifully, and with trouble still brewing, it\u2019s a great lead-in to Pike\u2019s story coming soon.<\/p>\n

Dramatic, emotional, sexy and intense, this is a great addition to the series.<\/p>\n
