4 swoony stars!<\/b><\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve read any of the books in this series then you will know exactly what to expect before you go in. A sweet, sexy, fast-paced romance with pretty much no drama. It\u2019s Kristen Proby\u2019s formula, and it was just what I was in the mood for, so I really enjoyed this one.<\/p>\n

Anastasia Montgomery is a cousin to the original Montgomery crew of the series. She designs and creates elaborate wedding cakes, and when she is in need of inspiration to heads to the glass museum where she loses herself in the creation of her favourite glass artist, Kane O\u2019Callaghan. But when she accidentally meets him at the museum, he\u2019s a total jerk to her.<\/p>\n

Much to Kane\u2019s delight, they run into each other again shortly after that. He wants a chance to redeem himself with the woman he can\u2019t stop thinking about, and they end up sharing a scorching night together. Anastasia thinks it\u2019s just for one night, but Kane has other plans.<\/p>\n

Kane and Anastasia are pretty much perfect for each other\u2026 actually they\u2019re both pretty perfect. Both incredibly driven, but open to everything that\u2019s happening between them, and they happily follow their hearts. It\u2019s all very insta-lovey, but Proby makes it work.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s sweet, passionate, honest and functional, and I loved the love story. The only drama occurs outside of their relationship, and seems to be a setup for future books for Kane\u2019s family, which would be great! They\u2019re a fantastic bunch, with some of their stories already set up, and I\u2019ve love to read more about them.<\/p>\n

Previous characters from the series appear, and I enjoyed seeing them again \u2013 it\u2019s a highlight of this series that you never really say goodbye to anybody, they keep popping up over and over again and I love that.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cWell, that\u2019s lovely,\u201d I mutter. \u201cAnd unnecessary.\u201d<\/em>
\n\u201cHe\u2019s here?\u201d Will chimes in, hurrying over. \u201cDude, we\u2019ll kill you. But welcome.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I enjoyed this one. It\u2019s quick, easy, drama-free swoon, and a great read.<\/p>\n

Okay, so the man has moves. It shouldn\u2019t surprise me that someone who creates such amazing works of art can also lead a girl around the dance floor. With one palm firmly planted on my lower back, and the other clutching my hand, Kane keeps his eyes on mine.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re a good dancer,\u201d I murmur.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re nervous,\u201d he replies softly. \u201cThere\u2019s no need to be. It\u2019s just a dance.\u201d<\/p>\n

I take a deep breath and offer him a smile. He\u2019s right. It\u2019s just a dance.<\/p>\n

The fact that he\u2019s maybe the hottest man I\u2019ve ever seen is a huge bonus.<\/p>\n

And if he can move like this, with all of our clothes on, I can only imagine what it could be like if we were naked.<\/p>\n

Mercy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI never got your name,\u201d he says and guides me closer to him so we can talk into each other\u2019s ears. I glance around the room, seeing my sister and the other girls smiling at us, watching us dance.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnastasia,\u201d I say and turn my head, not quite planting my nose against his neck. The smell of this man is going to kill me.<\/p>\n

And not because it triggers my asthma.<\/p>\n

I watch the pulse in his neck and enjoy the feeling of his strong arms holding me.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s a lovely name.\u201d The accent is thicker in his voice now. Irish? I\u2019m not good with accents, but I\u2019d bet he\u2019s Irish.<\/p>\n

His last name might be an indicator.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you.\u201d<\/p>\n

The song ends and flows into another ballad. Adele sings about finding another lover, as Kane moves against me, with me.<\/p>\n

I wonder if it looks as sexy as it feels.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou said yesterday,\u201d he whispers against my ear, \u201cthat you\u2019d be using your sketch for something else. What will that something be?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cA cake.\u201d<\/p>\n

He pulls back far enough to smile down at me in surprise. \u201cA cake, is it?\u201d<\/p>\n

I nod, more comfortable talking about what I do for a living than just dancing in silence.<\/p>\n

\u201cI design and build wedding cakes for a living. I can do them for other occasions, as well, but wedding cakes are what I\u2019m known for.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cInteresting.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a client who came into my shop about a month ago to hire me. They didn\u2019t give me any direction at all. No colors, no requests. It just has to feed about two hundred guests.\u201d I shake my head in disgust. \u201cNot that I want them to tell me to copy a photo. I won\u2019t do that, but usually,\u00a0they have colors they like or flowers in mind. Something. Not these two. When I need inspiration, I like to look at what others have created. Or have conversations with people I enjoy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat makes sense,\u201d he says and leans in to kiss my forehead, which sends a shiver right down my spine to my lady parts\u2014which had already sat up and taken notice of Kane.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat was that for?\u201d I ask.<\/p>\n

\u201cAn apology,\u201d he replies. \u201cFor being difficult yesterday.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cApology accepted.\u201d<\/p>\n

His lips quirk into that half-smile, his green eyes shining. The song is almost over, and I know I should thank him for the dance and find Lia and the others.<\/p>\n

\u201cThanks for the dance.\u201d<\/p>\n

The last note plays, and I pull back, immediately wishing I was back in his arms.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s a stranger, and it\u2019s crazy, but it\u2019s true.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you belong to a man, Anastasia?\u201d Kane brushes his knuckles down the side of my cheek.<\/p>\n

I frown. \u201cI\u2019ll never belong to anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know what I mean. Are you taken?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m single if that\u2019s what you\u2019re asking.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGood.\u201d He kisses the back of my hand.<\/p>\n

About Kristen<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Kristen was born and raised in a small resort town in her beloved Montana. In her mid-twenties, she decided to stretch her wings and move to the Pacific Northwest, where she made her home for more than a dozen years.

During that time, Kristen wrote many romance novels and joined organizations such as RWA and other small writing groups. She spent countless hours in workshops, and more mornings than she can count up before dawn so she could write before going to work.
