Wow. Truly. Kate Stewart has delivered something very different with this book \u2013 the first in the Ravenhood Duet<\/i>. It\u2019s an emotionally raw coming-of-age story that is full of intrigue, with a love story that is dripping with chemistry that had me absolutely floored with its passion and intensity. I was completely swept up in the wonder and excitement of it all and couldn\u2019t put it down, reading it in one sitting and desperate for more!<\/p>\n

The blurb is really vague, and the cover is kinda creepy, I had no idea what to expect going into this one, but that\u2019s a very good thing. It\u2019s a story that needs to be slowly uncovered, and I loved getting caught up in the twists and turns.<\/p>\n

The prologue had me instantly intrigued, introducing us to Cecilia, who is travelling to revisit her past and reflecting on her life.<\/p>\n

The only love I\u2019ve ever known or craved is the kind that keeps me sick, sick with longing, sick with lust, sick with need, sick with grief. The distorted kind that leaves scars and jaded hearts.<\/i><\/p>\n

It\u2019s time to confess, to myself more so than any other, that\u2019 I\u2019d hindered my chance of a normal and healthy relationship because of the way I was built, and because of the men who built me.<\/em>
\nAt this point, I just want to make peace with who I am, no matter what ending I get.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The story then shifts back to the past, where we meet 19-year-old Cecilia who is reluctantly moving from her home in the city, to a small country town to spend 12 months with her estranged father. Her father is a very wealthy man and she\u2019s made a deal to work for him for a year before starting college in exchange for accessing her trust fund, which she can then use to help her struggling mother.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s all set for a year where she\u2019s going to explore herself and take chances, and that bodes well because on her first day at her father\u2019s electronics factory, she meets Sean. Sean is gorgeous, charming and flirtatious, and their attraction is instant, and she is quickly drawn in by the man who opens eyes to the world in a way she\u2019s never experienced before.<\/p>\n

And then she meets his friends. There\u2019s a mysteriousness about his \u2018brothers\u2019, bringing a fantastic sense of excitement to the story, and creating a bit of a dark and wild mood, allowing Cecilia to stretch her limits like never before.<\/p>\n

I cannot express enough just how sizzling this book is. The chemistry is off the freaking charts, and the sexy time is\u2026 *wipes brow* wow. I was all in with Cecilia, experiencing everything along with her and revelling in her exploring all that she is feeling. I understood her emotions and her actions, and I went on the rollercoaster with her, and I loved every moment of it \u2013 never sure where it was going, but enjoying the ride all the same.<\/p>\n

Like I said, it\u2019s a twisty journey, but it\u2019s so damn addictive, and it sucked me right in. It\u2019s technically classified as a romantic suspense, and there is this element of suspenseful intrigue, but it\u2019s very strongly focussed on the romance. It\u2019s a love story first and foremost, and I was completely swept away in the passion and emotion of it all!<\/p>\n

And just when the story twists again, and my heart was pounding wildly, the book ends on a nasty cliffhanger, and my mind is racing and desperate for answers! I need to know more, I need to see how it all ends, and I can\u2019t wait to get my hands on book #2 in the duet, EXODUS, when it releases in a week.<\/p>\n

Such a fantastic read \u2013 5 stars!<\/p>\n
