Holy freaking feels, I love this book! A beautiful story that is heartwrenching, intense and stunningly romantic, and an emotional journey for a woman fighting to claim back her life following a devastating loss. This book made me feel so much, mostly it made me fall in mad love with a gorgeous love story, and it\u2019s going down as a fave for 2020!<\/p>\n

This is the final book in the Flight & Glory<\/i> series, and it revolves around a traumatic event that took place earlier in the series. If you haven\u2019t read the earlier books, you may find yourself a little bit lost \u2013 things are explained, but not until later in the book – and the premise of this book alone is a massive spoiler for earlier books in the series, so just beware. And of course, this review will be a bit spoilery for the other books.<\/p>\n

This is Morgan\u2019s story. She\u2019s been in the background of the previous books – she\u2019s the best friend of Paisley (from book #2, Eyes Turned Skyward<\/a>), but this book introduces us to a whole new Morgan as, left shattered by the death of the man she loves, she has packed up her life and moved to the Outer Banks. It\u2019s been two years since Will\u2019s death, and Morgan is still struggling to cope with her grief and the crippling anxiety attacks that hit without warning. So, she eagerly dives into renovating her new place on the beach, and sets herself up with a therapist who puts her on an intense program to help her get her life back.<\/p>\n

The complication she wasn\u2019t expecting is her jaw-droppingly gorgeous neighbour, Jackson. The sexy single father to a five-year-old little girl is immediately attracted to Morgan, and though their first few encounters are more humiliating than flirtatious, and he can recognise that she\u2019s clearly struggling with something, he finds himself drawn more and more to her and sets about becoming a part of her life.<\/p>\n

This is such<\/i> a beautiful romance! Morgan is in no way ready for a relationship, and Jackson recognises and respects that, yet he begins to slowly woo her \u2013 letting her know that he\u2019s there for her and helping her to spread her wings a bit, but in no way pressuring her into anything. He is sweet, caring and understanding, and Morgan is stunned to find herself feeling something for him.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou might preach you\u2019re a mess, but I think you\u2019re pretty fucking perfect, wreckage and all.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It\u2019s a difficult situation for Morgan as she grieves one man while falling for another, especially when she learns that Jackson is a rescue pilot with the Coastguard \u2013 another military flyboy whose job puts him in danger every day. I could absolutely understand her fear and reluctance, but through it all, they are open and honest about what they are feeling, and it\u2019s beautifully functional as they slowly work through it all.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want to feel like this anymore.\u201d Her eyes filled with tears, and I pulled her into my arms, resting my chin on her head as she cried into my chest.
\n\u201cI know you don\u2019t.\u201d
\n\u201cI want to be happy and to have a heart that\u2019s worth risking. I miss my friends. I miss <\/i>him, but then there\u2019s you, and I want to be ready for whatever this is, and it all just jumbles in my head.\u201d Her sob shook her shoulders.
\n\u201cI\u2019ll wait for as long as you need me to,\u201d I promised her again. \u201cYou don\u2019t have to factor me in to your healing. I\u2019m not going anywhere.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Oh my God, Jackson! I could have highlighted everything single word that came out of that man\u2019s mouth because he was just perfection! He\u2019s an absolute sweetheart with a seriously sexy side, but it\u2019s his big heart and his epic declarations that had me falling madly for him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I\u2019m falling for you.\u201d \u2026
\nThe look he gave me was so tender, it made my eyes burn. \u201cI don\u2019t need to think. I already know. I\u2019m just glad you\u2019re catching up, because I am so far gone for you that I can\u2019t even see the shore anymore.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Their developing romance plays out alongside Morgan\u2019s recovery, which is just heartwrenching. It\u2019s a complicated situation that she\u2019s in, and I so respected her strength in pushing forward to make herself better. The rest of the Flight & Glory<\/i> crew are a part of her journey, and oh, holy hell, the intensity of those scenes just about wrecked me! Beautifully written and stunningly emotional, it was just amazing, and I was silently cheering her on as she fought hard and took those important steps in claiming back her life.<\/p>\n

But right when things seem to be finally getting on track, Morgan\u2019s world is pulled out from under her again. Again, it\u2019s emotional, again, I could understand what she was feeling, and again, Jackson is pure perfection. It\u2019s a gutwrenching and thrilling climax to the story, and my heart was pounding as I read, desperate to see how it was all going to work out. And it was absolutely everything that I could have wanted.<\/p>\n

\u201cI choose you. And if I have to let you lose me so you can save yourself, then I\u2019ll hold on enough for the both of us. That\u2019s how much I love you.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This book completely captivated me. It\u2019s a long read, but from start to finish, I was right on board and feeling it all. The love story stole my heart, as did Jackson\u2019s little daughter, Finley, who absolutely shines in every scene that she\u2019s in, and I loved these characters and their story so, so much.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a beautiful book, full of feels, and an amazing read.<\/p>\n
