A wonderful mix of light and dark, easy and hard, this author brings on the laughs and then bring on the tears before she just about ruins you. Livy Knight and Slade Wylder take us on a ride to remember that will break your heart before piecing it back together. Surprising, captivating, and all-consuming, I devour it and I loved it!!<\/p>\n

Livy Knight, daughter of Jackson Knight from the Jack & Jill<\/i> <\/a>series, meets Slade Wylder in college and instantly she\u2019s intrigued. He\u2019s anything but nice to her but his mysterious demeanor draws her in. The fact that he lives near her in the firehouse that has been deemed haunted only makes him more interesting. Slowly, she breaks down his walls and they find themselves in a unique relationship that brings out feelings they\u2019ve never experienced. However, Wylder is hiding something so big that it will forever change Livy. When Livy discovers the truth, will her heart be damaged beyond repair, or will it be fuller than ever before?<\/p>\n

Out of Love<\/i> is about a bad boy with a dark past and a good girl with a bright future. Wylder is a mystery and I wanted all of his truths. He\u2019s a badass with an awesome dog and I was captivated by him just as Livy was. I wanted to know him too and would have done what she did. Livy has her future planned out and she is determined to make things happened. What she doesn\u2019t expect is Slade Wylder, the guy who doesn\u2019t want anything to do with her but who seems to be everywhere.<\/p>\n

I loved Livy and Wylder together. Livy is sassy, strong, and resilient and can hold her own and Wylder is different than anyone she has met. The banter is fantastic and they know how to turn up the heat. While they try to keep things casual, I enjoyed watching them realize they have feelings for each other.<\/p>\n

Their love is raw and real but it is not easy. Even though there was no questioning their feelings, there are secrets that threaten everything they have built, and from the moment they fell, I prepared myself for the heartache that was sure to come\u2026or so I thought. I was definitely not<\/i> ready for the things that they had to face. I did not anticipate the pain they would go through and it ultimately shattered my heart.<\/p>\n

\nEvery dream\u2014gone.
\nEvery inch of trust\u2014gone.

The storyline is well-paced and every little detail is masterfully thought out. I was consumed by it and could not put it down. My heart was racing as the story unfolded and I had no idea how everything would play out. I was so invested in Livy and Wylder that the anticipation of what was to come kept me in the edge of my seat. There are jaw dropping moments that broke me and there were times I didn\u2019t think I will make it through the book. My stomach was knotted, my heart was wrecked, and I just cried.\u00a0I could hardly take it when each new twist was revealed and I didn’t know what to do with myself.<\/p>\n

I had this feeling\u00a0\u2026 a terrible unexplainable feeling that he wasn\u2019t simply going to break my heart, he was going to shatter it beyond repair. And I would live my life as a jaded lover who would never trust another man again.
\nAll in.
\nSmart women saved a part of their hearts\u2014like if even a small part were left intact, it could grow a full heart again. One cell at a time.
\nNope. I let the whole fucking organ dive off the cliff, which meant he would leave me heartless and broken. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This story is jam packed with all the feels – the good and the bad and everything in between, and though this author put me through the wringer, I wouldn\u2019t change a thing. She gives you an unforgettable experience that shows her talent as a writer. Even days after finishing this story, I find Livy and Wylder still stuck in my heart and I don\u2019t want to give them up!<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll add that I loved seeing Jessica and Jackson again, too! If you haven\u2019t read the Jack & Jill<\/i> <\/a>series, do yourself a favor and dive on in! You will not regret it!<\/p>\n

After their kissy-huggy greeting ended, they walked toward the house with Jericho in tow. I waited for him to glance back at me. He saw me. There was no way he passed me a few seconds earlier on the street and didn\u2019t see me. Yet, he made no attempt to acknowledge me.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Until \u2026\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My boy Jerry stopped abruptly and turned like he caught whiff of my scent. All the warm fuzzies filled my chest. A <\/span>dog<\/span><\/i> gave me more feels than any man had given me in a long time. Maybe ever.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jericho liked me. Hell, maybe he loved me.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He protected me.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He smiled when he saw me\u2014tongue out, tail in a low wag. I continued my way up the sidewalk, feigning surprise when he trotted toward me in spite of Slade barking his own command.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHey, Jerry.\u201d I squatted down to give him double the love Miss Sophisticated gave him \u2026 and I had a treat in my pocket because part of me anticipated\u2014hoped for\u2014a chance encounter. \u201cOh, buddy \u2026 I love you too.\u201d I closed my eyes and turned my face side to side while he showered me with kisses.<\/span><\/p>\n

Slade cleared his throat.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I opened my eyes\u2014noticing his friend must have gone inside. \u201cSorry.\u201d I stood, sliding a treat into Jericho\u2019s mouth along the way. \u201cI know it\u2019s hard for you to know he likes me more.\u201d On a shrug, I bit my lips together to keep my shit-eating grin under control.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cInside,\u201d he said to Jericho while looking at me.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jericho turned and headed to the back door.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIf you have a <\/span>job<\/span><\/i> to do \u2026 Jerry can hang with me tonight. I\u2019m alone this evening.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cJericho. And he doesn\u2019t need a babysitter.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe I do.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

His brow tensed a fraction, contemplation settling into a slight frown for a few seconds, before he whistled and Jericho came running. \u201cSend him home when your friends get back.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Why<\/span><\/i> was the only word that sat on the tip of my idle tongue? Why protect me?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat are you going to do?\u201d Okay, apparently \u201cwhy\u201d wasn\u2019t the only word on the tip of my tongue after all. Six other words were in line first.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDoes it matter?\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Letting my gaze settle over his shoulder to the firehouse and images of Miss Sophisticated waiting for him, I lifted a single shoulder. \u201cNo. Just curious. Is she your girlfriend?\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDoes it matter?\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI hate you.\u201d I rolled my eyes. \u201cWorst communication skills ever.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cGood. Hate me. I prefer it.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I recoiled. I didn\u2019t really hate anyone. It wasn\u2019t my personality to be hateful, vengeful, or hold grudges. Why did Slade Wylder want me to hate him? It was a joke. I hated his lack of sharing information.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIf you\u2019re selling her some shit that will ruin her life, may I suggest you rethink that? Not cool, Wylder.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tipping my chin up, I gave him several tiny nods. \u201cOkay then. I\u2019ll take Jerry to my house and spoil him. Maybe he comes back to you \u2026 maybe he doesn\u2019t.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Slade let his gaze slide down my body, a slow and easy trip. He didn\u2019t do that when we met. Somewhere along the way, he decided it was okay. I wasn\u2019t sure what reaction he desired from me.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Maybe nothing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Maybe he did it out of pure selfish desire.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That moment I tucked into my memory forever as one of the first truly great moments.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
