An exciting and intense romance that is unexpected, passionate and full of emotion, it\u2019s another fantastic read by J.B. Salsbury, and I loved it!<\/p>\n Jordan is camping in the Adirondack Mountains when she becomes separated from her group and has a dangerous fall. She is rescued by a \u2018Grizzly\u2019 mountain man who carries her back to his cabin and tends to her wounds, and the two of them soon find themselves stuck there when bad weather traps them together.<\/p>\n It\u2019s a great set-up, made all the more amazing because of these incredible characters. Jordan is bright and optimistic with a lot of sass, where as her \u2018Grizzly\u2019 rescuer, Alexander, is everything she\u2019s not \u2013 cold, broody and closed off, and very unimpressed to have somebody imposing on his quiet getaway in the woods.<\/p>\n An ice storm holds me prisoner inside my own cabin with a woman who irritates the fuck out of me by simply breathing. And it\u2019s my fault she\u2019s breathing. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Initially, Jordan\u2019s injuries keep her quiet and bed-bound, and Alexander is busy keeping the two of them alive in the harsh conditions. But as Jordan recovers, things become really entertaining as she tries to drag Alexander out of his shell, and they form a connection that neither of them saw coming. It\u2019s sweet and fun, the chemistry is electric, and the sexy time is super passionate *fans self*.<\/p>\n Everything changes for them when they are returned to the big city, and are exposed to the realities of the other\u2019s lives. Turns out Alexander is a genius and a millionaire and he has a “social and anger disorder”, with the weight of a huge corporation on his shoulders, while Jordan\u2019s \u2018real\u2019 life is pretty much falling apart. It\u2019s a complete shift from what they thought they knew about each other, yet they cannot stay away, and I loved watching these two navigate such a completely different environment.<\/p>\n \u201cYou say you don\u2019t love me, but you\u2019ve been loving me well since the day we met.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n More importantly, Jordan comes to learn more about Alexander \u2013 about who he is, what he\u2019s capable of, and terrible secrets from his past. He is a complex character, and is beautifully written, and I felt so much for him. And Jordan is such a wonderful heroine \u2013 a pillar of strength determined to be with the man she loves, but also not willing to get walked all over. They are facing a difficult situation, and there is some back and forth as they work through it all, but they handle it beautifully and the emotion is just gorgeous.<\/p>\n He closes the distance between us, his hands grip my hips, and he pulls me flush to his body. \u201cI\u2019m going to screw this up. Don\u2019t let me get away with it.\u201d The vulnerability in his eyes makes my heart ache. Along the way, we get to meet Alexander\u2019s brothers, and wow, what a complicated bunch! There are some extreme personalities here, but given what they\u2019ve had to deal with while growing up, it\u2019s to be expected. There are some fantastic dynamics at play and I can\u2019t wait to get to know them better as the series continues.<\/p>\n I loved this book. It\u2019s intense and angsty, but it has moments of lightness and sweetness. Jordan and Alexander are wonderful characters, and I felt so much for both of them throughout the book. The romance is honest, sweet, and seriously sexy, and there\u2019s something so natural about it. I loved seeing these two together, and I thought their story was beautifully told.<\/p>\n J.B.
