It’s a continuation of the story of Daniel, the hero introduced in The Gift, when he was gifted a week with a young, submissive Eleanor as a way to help him deal with his debilitating grief after losing his wife. Daniel fell for Eleanor in a big way, but of course she belonged to another, so he’s spent the last few years trekking around South America trying to forget about her and find his way to move forward. Now he’s back in New York, and his first stop is to visit the King of the Underground, Kingsley, and that’s where he meets snarky and sarcastic submissive, Anya. Anya is the main event for Kingsley’s upcoming charity auction, where she is auctioning off her virginity in order to help protect and provide for her family, and though she seems to hate Daniel on site, he is drawn to her and feels a need to protect her. And when Kingsley puts Daniel himself on the auction block, his matchmaking sets up a fantastic story.

As expected, there’s lots of sexy time, most of it with a healthy side of kink – Daniel is a Dom after all. But he’s also a man searching for love, which brings a nice amount of emotion to the story, and as Daniel and Anya dance around each other, we get a fun, sexy and sweet romance with a satisfying ending.

“I want you in my collar. I want to own you,” he said into her hair. “I want to love you, too.”
“Yes, I want that. Please.”

Of course, we get to see much-loved characters from the series. Kingsley is a complete scene stealer as always, and I laughed pretty much every time he was on the page. There’s a fair bit of Eleanor, and of course, Søren, and even though the interactions were brief, I revelled in the dynamics between the fantastic trio.

“I love you, Kingsley,” a woman shouted out in the middle of his speech.
“Your taste is impeccable,” he replied without missing a beat. “See me after the auction.”

This is a great addition to the Original Sinners world – a must-read for fans, but it can also standalone.

I loved it – 4.5 stars.

An Advanced Reader Copy of this book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Check out The Original Sinners series, including the Pulp Library collection here

Buy: Amazon | Paperback Review 4.5 stars!
