This is such a fun read! Playful, sexy and sweet with a lot of heart, it\u2019s the first book in The<\/em> Brooklyn Book Boyfriends<\/i> series, and an absolutely gorgeous romance, and I loved it!<\/p>\n

Nina has just discovered that her fianc\u00e9 (who also happens to be her boss) has been cheating on her for two months. She\u2019s not as devastated as she probably should be, but figures drowning her anger and sadness with alcohol is the way to go. And it\u2019s while she\u2019s at the liquor store that she runs into the most gorgeous man she\u2019s ever met. Vince invites her to a local bar, and when Nina decides it\u2019s time to step outside of her comfort zone and have some fun for once, she and Vince end up back at her place for an insanely sexy encounter.<\/p>\n

He could have said Let\u2019s go to hell\u2014it\u2019s warm there, right? And I would have just stared at his butt and said, Yeah. Let\u2019s do that.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In a great twist, it turns out that Vince is the now-ex-boyfriend of the girl that Nina\u2019s fianc\u00e9 was cheating on her with. Coincidence? Perhaps not. But neither of them can deny their mad physical chemistry, and they end up seeing each other again\u2026 and again. And when they realise that they can\u2019t (and don\u2019t want to) keep their hands off each other, they decide to continue seeing each other for the summer as a way to move on from their respective relationships, and then they\u2019ll go back to their normal lives.<\/p>\n

So they dive in to outings, dates, meeting the families and a whole lot of sex, and easy, naturally, and quite unexpectedly, they find themselves in an actual relationship. They both fall hard, and they follow their hearts while they do it, and I loved watching it all unfold.<\/p>\n

Thankfully the song that\u2019s now playing is some cheesy Beyonc\u00e9 ballad that we don\u2019t have to dance to\u2014and you could not pay me enough to dance to this song. Ever.
\n\u201cOh, I love this song!\u201d she exclaims, turning to me. Her eyes are all lit up. \u201cCan we slow-dance to this?!\u201d

\nFuck.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I love these characters. Nina is cute, a little bit goofy, and she\u2019s so relatable. She\u2019s a straight-talker who doesn\u2019t play games, and she\u2019s open with Vince, which I love. She also comes with a hilarious best friend who is an absolute scene-stealer. And Vince is the kind of hero that never fails to win my heart. He\u2019s gorgeous and confident, with a great sense of humour, and he\u2019s not afraid to dive in with the girl he wants. He\u2019s been a bit of a player in the past, but from the moment he meets Nina, he\u2019s all in, and seeing him fall in love for the first time was so gorgeous.<\/p>\n

\nI cover my mouth. \u201cOh my God. Vince. We\u2019re so cheesy.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

They both have issues to work through, and there is a bit of drama which is annoying, but it\u2019s not too angsty and it\u2019s resolved well to bring a happy and satisfying ending with two gorgeous epilogues<\/p>\n

I really loved this book, and look forward to diving into the rest of the series.<\/p>\n

I listened to this as an audiobook, narrated by Teddy Hamilton and MacKenzie Cartwright, and they do a wonderful job! Definitely a great book to listen to.<\/p>\n
