The final book in the Hearts<\/i> trilogy, this is the one that brings the romance, sex and emotion that I\u2019ve been hoping for from this series!<\/p>\n

Ronan and Poppy\u2019s story has been a rollercoaster so far, and the last book finished with them entering into a marriage of convenience (convenient in that Poppy is provided with much-needed protection now that she shares Ronan\u2019s name), before leaving Ireland and heading back to New York to face their enemies.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s intriguing and suspenseful, and it soon becomes clear that their troubles are far from over. Trapped between warring families, it\u2019s become clear to Ronan\u2019s enemies that Poppy is now his weakness, and the two of them have a fight on their hands to figure out why they are being hunted, and find their way out the life they want no part of.<\/p>\n

And at the heart of it all, is the love story. And honestly, that\u2019s the part of the story I was here for.<\/p>\n

\nWith her indignation and bratiness and her heart so big it swallowed me whole?
\nYeah. I was fucking terrified. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Poppy is in love with Ronan, and though he initially maintains his standoffish \u2018I\u2019ll keep you safe by keeping my distance\u2019 thing, their mad chemistry proves impossible to resist, and oh holy God, they are hot together!<\/p>\n

This was something worse than temptation. Something I\u2019d never felt before, this crushing <\/i>need for her. I was married to my addition and I knew nothing good would come of this but I still wanted her. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ronan\u2019s world has been nothing but violence. He\u2019s never known love, so when sassy and stubborn Poppy refuses to back down from her emotional declarations, blatant seduction and her insistence on helping him, he honestly has no clue how to deal with it. But he recognises that he is changing \u2013 just as Poppy is finding her ferocity, he is softening towards her, and it was gorgeous to watch.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou destroy me, Poppy. You fucking ruin me. Who the fuck do you think you are to be so brave? To be so fierce.
\n\u201cI am what you\u2019ve made me.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He\u2019s still a complete badass of course, but his walls are coming down, and as he finally let himself feel and gave himself over to his heart, I loved every moment of it. It\u2019s passionate, emotional and so intense, and it\u2019s the love story I was waiting for for these two!<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m yours, Poppy,\u201d I said to her face. All that I am. Every part of me. My violence and my bloodstained hands. Like I was a knight and she was a queen, I would defend her to my death. \u201cI love you and I\u2019m yours.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Freaking swoon!<\/p>\n

And Poppy has become quite the little badass herself! I loved seeing her find her strength, stand up to Ronan, and the people that are trying to hurt them. Together, they become quite the powerhouse, and it was so satisfying to watch them fight for their HEA.<\/p>\n

The only life I wanted, the only one with meaning was to be standing between her and what would hurt her. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This is a really satisfying ending to the trilogy. These characters have come such a long way, and I loved seeing them finally come together, open up to each other, and embrace everything that they are. I thought the mystery\/suspense part of the storyline finished well, and the epilogue provides great closure.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a wild journey, but what a finish. 4 stars.<\/p>\n
