Oh, Devney Perry. Once again, I have been emotionally swept away to one of your small country towns, and fallen madly in love – this time in a sweet, sexy and emotional single parent romance with wonderful characters, fantastic family dynamics, and a gorgeously swoony love story.<\/p>\n

This is the second book in The Edens<\/i> series, and is the story of Knox Eden. Knox is the head chef and manager of the family restaurant (which is attached to the family Inn), and while he is very close with his family, he is pretty closed off and lives alone and isolated, preferring solitude and a quiet life.<\/p>\n

Memphis Ward is new to Quincy, having just accepted the job as housekeeper at the Eden\u2019s hotel. She\u2019s come to town with her 8-week-old son, desperate for a fresh start, and even though she\u2019s left behind a world of wealth and privilege to start over with nothing, she is determined to build a good life for her little family.<\/p>\n

With rental accommodation lacking in Quincy, Memphis\u2019 new boss, Eloise, arranges for her to stay in an apartment above her brother Knox\u2019s garage. He is not impressed having his privacy intruded upon, even less so when Memphis\u2019 son screams all night long, so they don\u2019t get off to the greatest of beginnings. But that doesn\u2019t stop them from feeling an instant attraction to each other, and we get this wonderfully intense longing-from-afar situation as they both go about their business, trying to keep out of each other\u2019s way.<\/p>\n

The chemistry builds beautifully, and when Knox starts to open up a bit and develops a surprising bond with baby Drake, they develop a fast and easy friendship that very quickly turns into more as their mad attraction becomes completely irresistible.<\/p>\n

I love these characters! Knox is alpha male through and through. He wants Memphis, and once he has her in his arms, there\u2019s no way he is letting her go. He is honest about it and holds nothing back, and I loved watching him put himself out there, making big gestures and grand declarations, and not letting Memphis\u2019 fears or doubts get in the way.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know what\u2019s on the line, Memphis. But I\u2019m standing here anyway.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And Memphis is a wonderful heroine – vulnerable yet strong, bravely embracing the opportunity to create a new life for herself and her son, and at the same time accepting Knox into their lives and embracing him and all of her feelings for him. I love how openly they follow their hearts. It\u2019s beautiful to watch, and I was swept up in a world of swoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not the kind of man who gives up what\u2019s good. And we\u2019re good. We\u2019re fucking good, honey.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It\u2019s passionate, sweet and swoony, and I loved seeing these two together! It\u2019s a gorgeously angst-free read, and though there is some drama, it\u2019s minimal, and works with the story to build emotion and intensity.<\/p>\n

We get to see the rest of the Eden crew. I loved seeing Griffin and Winslow from the first book again, and I\u2019m loving our slow introduction to the rest of the family and cannot wait to carry on, with Talia\u2019s story up next.<\/p>\n

This is such a gorgeous story. I swooned the whole way through, and finished it with a big grin on my face.<\/p>\n
