The final book in The Queen & The Assassin<\/i> trilogy, this is the conclusion to Tamar and Runo\u2019s steamy forbidden romance, and it\u2019s an exciting, intense and passionate read that completes their story perfectly.<\/p>\n

Note – This book is not a standalone, so make sure you check out the earlier books before diving into this one.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been six months since, under orders from his Empress, Runo snuck his way into the Kingdom of Redwood to assassinate Queen Tamar. It only took one encounter with the Iron Queen for his plans to change, and we have since watched them fall in lust (hot!), then in love, while Runo found a home in Redwood, and has become respected and well-liked, even though most members of the aristocracy still look down their noses at him.<\/p>\n

But now, they are faced with their biggest hurdle yet \u2013 the Empress has demanded Runo\u2019s return, where he will face a slow, tortuous death. And if he is not handed over within a month, it is the Kingdom of Redwood that will pay the price. Our two lovers are faced with an unimaginable situation, the Iron Queen having to choose between the wellbeing of her people, or the man she loves.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s exciting and intriguing, and though I had an idea where the story would go, there were still lots of twists and turns along the way, and I was so excited to see it all play out. Runo\u2019s sarcasm and smartassery is fantastically entertaining as he continues to endear himself to the people, and his commitment to and passion for Tamar are ridiculously hot and beautifully swoony.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re all mine and you will be as long as I live, and I want you to know it.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And even with such a huge hero by her side, Tamar absolutely shines as the strong queen, but more importantly, as a woman in love who refuses to give up on her man. She\u2019s been through so much, and watching her truly start to embrace who she is and what she wants, was gorgeous to see.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a bit of an epic finish as their plotting and planning comes to a head, and I was reading with a thumping heart as it all unfolded. This book made me laugh so many times, and I think I even cheered out loud at one point. I loved watching them stand so bravely and fight for their HEA, and finished this book satisfied, with a huge grin on my face.<\/p>\n

I would love to see more of these two characters, and hope that they\u2019ll show up in future books set within the Five Kingdoms. I absolutely love this world that Marshall has created, and cannot wait for more.<\/p>\n
