This is the final book in the Seven Kings of Jinn<\/i> series (originally published as Darkness, Kindled (Fire Spirits, #4)<\/i>) by Samantha Young, and wow, what an ending! Exciting, surprising and romantic, Young flipped the story on its head in this heart-racing ending, and I loved it!<\/p>\n

This book picks up with Ari and Jai now together, and working for the Guild hunting dangerous jinn and other magic users. Sadly, that now includes her best friend, Charlie, who has succumbed to dark powers and is target number one, forcing Ari to make an unimaginable choice.<\/p>\n

At the same time, multiple bad guys from earlier in the series are seeking Ari out for revenge, her evil father is continuing on with his nefarious plans, and the Sultan\u2019s right-hand-man, Asmodeus, is stepping up his creepy stalker behaviour.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s all happening, and with the all-powerful Sultan owing her a favour, Ari thinks she has the solution to it all. One wish is all it takes to fix everything\u2026 but the consequences will be beyond anything she ever could have imagined.<\/p>\n

I love the direction that Young took this book! She managed to flip the story on its head, bringing shocks and surprises, and lots of unexpected twists and turns, and did it in a way that makes the whole story so much more exciting. She also manages to create happy endings which I thought was looking a little impossible there for a while. It\u2019s not the way I expected it, but it was so cleverly done, and I was so satisfied that so many little story threads were tied up so nicely.<\/p>\n

In the middle of the absolute chaos, Ari and Jai\u2019s love story shines as they settle into their relationship, finding their way with each other and continuing to grow closer. They are so deeply in love and know they belong together, and even though they both have fiery personalities, they are completely committed and work at having a functional, honest relationship that is just beautiful. There are sweet and tender moments, and even a bit of sexy time (YA sexy time), and I loved the evolution of things between them.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m coming back.\u201d She tugged him closer, their faces almost touching. \u201cI\u2019m coming back to you. I will <\/i>always come back to you.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The huge cast of side characters are all a part of the action, and I loved seeing progression for them. Pretty much everybody is drawn into unpredictable story, which had my heart pounding right up until the very end. I loved seeing them all come together, and there are some pretty epic scenes as the series comes to its close.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve really enjoyed this series. Each book built upon the last, getting better and better as it went on, and I was really happy and very satisfied with the way it all ended.<\/p>\n
