I was not ready.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The scenes are predominantly from Lenore and Edward\u2019s perspective, beginning after Royally Yours<\/a> and mostly taking place before Royally Screwed<\/a>\u00a0– with a couple of scenes after. And, to be completely honest, it\u2019s all the scenes from the series that I didn\u2019t<\/i> want to see, because oh my God, my heart! We know these characters have been through difficult times, and here they are laid out in all of their devastation, perfectly described by Chase in her Author\u2019s note:<\/p>\n \u201c\u2026moments that are alluded to but not shown on the page \u2026 these moments that played such an integral part in shaping these characters into who they ultimately became<\/i>.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n As a romcom writer, I\u2019ve never seen this side of Emma Chase, but she can certainly bring the feels! This wasn\u2019t just a read where tears were delicately falling down my face, I freaking ugly cried \u2013 sobbing, hiccupping breaths and all. It hurt so bad, but despite the heartache, seeing the love between the family and how the characters pick themselves up and carry on despite all they go through is really special.<\/p>\n There are a couple of light moments – any moment with Edward and Lenore together and seeing all that they mean to each other is an absolute win, and I did enjoy seeing young Nicholas and Henry.<\/p>\n Dear God, my grandparents are flirting with each other. This is what hell must be like. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n I wouldn\u2019t say it\u2019s a must-read for the series, but fans will want it – just be prepared, because if you\u2019re hoping for the light-hearted, laugh-out-loud hilarity of the other books of the series, this is definitely not that book.
