The second book in the Adventures in Love<\/i> series, this is a short and sweet read and a fast-moving romance between a single mum finding her feet, and a grumpy-yet-hurting hero.<\/p>\n

Blake is part owner of Live Life Adventures with his two best friends. They are all ex-military, and started their company together, taking people on adventure tours through the Montana wilderness. We met Blake in the first book of the series, Rushed<\/a>, where he came across as being broody and a bit of an a-hole, so I was really looking forward to getting to know him better.<\/p>\n

Everly has just moved home to Montana, and after leaving an unhappy relationship, she\u2019s moved back in with her parents with her ten-month old son, Sam. She\u2019s starting over, and her new job at Live Life Adventures is just what she needs to get her on her feet again. Though she\u2019s struggling with a very inconvenient crush on one of her bosses.<\/p>\n

Blake is indeed grumpy, but he\u2019s living with a heartbreaking secret, and he\u2019s struggling to deal with it. Meeting Everly takes him by complete surprise but she very quickly gets under his skin, and she and her son bring a spark to his life that he cannot stay away from.<\/p>\n

Blake is one of those alphas who just dives on in and becomes a part of the heroine\u2019s life, calling her \u201cbabe\u201d, stepping in to help wherever possible, caring for little Sam, and dropping little moments of affection (hand brushes, soft kisses, etc.). It works for him and all of his gruffness, and Everly is happy to get swept away in it all, and I enjoyed watching these two fall easily and naturally into a relationship. They are open and honest with each other, they are so sweet together, and of course there\u2019s sexy time and feels that come along with that.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe good thing about all your sharp edges is that when you let someone past them, they are safe, maybe safer than they were before \u2026 You\u2019ve become my safe place.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It’s a short read and the story moves pretty quickly, which doesn\u2019t really allow a lot of time for the romance to develop, but it doesn\u2019t really matter because neither Blake nor Everly mess around, and they\u2019re all in from the beginning, which Reynolds makes work, and I loved watching them come together.<\/p>\n

There are no words for the way you feel when you are truly loved by someone, and that\u2019s what makes falling in love so risky. I just know now that it\u2019s a risk worth taking over and over until you find the person who is meant to be yours.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We get to see the Tanner and Cybil from the previous book, and I loved watching the continuation of their story. I really liked the continuation of the side story for Brock\u2019s sister Margret which was hinted at in the first book of the series, it\u2019s a really sweet addition to the series. And there\u2019s also something going on with the third team member, Maverick, and I can\u2019t wait for his story to find out what\u2019s going on with him.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s another enjoyable read from Aurora Rose Reynolds. Sweet and easy with a really nice romance.<\/p>\n
