A novella set in the Stage Dive<\/i> world, this is a short and sweet story featuring extended members of the Stage Dive family, and it\u2019s a cute read.<\/p>\n

Jude is the Nanny for David and Evelyn (from Lick<\/a>, book, #1). She lives in a small house at the rear of their property, and she loves her job, and the extended family that she\u2019s been welcomed into. Dean is a music producer who works with the band, and also just happens to be the man that Lena dated briefly before she ended up with Jimmy in (from Lead<\/a>, book, #3). While he is in town temporarily, he and Jude end up sharing the same small house, which is a potentially awkward situation considering they are instantly attracted to each other. And with their crush on full display, the Stage Dive crew are eager to dive in and \u2018help\u2019. They\u2019re both a little wary, but it\u2019s fun to watch these two follow their feelings and explore their chemistry.<\/p>\n

It just seems so easy to fall into life with Dean. And I don\u2019t want to fight the pull of this happiness and contentment.<\/i><\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This is a really short read, and things progress quickly. There\u2019s a tiny bit of drama, but no time for angst, and I enjoyed how open they are with each other when it comes to figuring things out between them. And, of course, there\u2019s even some sexy time.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a cute read, with a highlight definitely being catching up with the Stage Dive crew and their families, and the epilogue with everybody together had me laughing out loud.<\/p>\n

I enjoyed this one \u2013 3 stars.<\/p>\n

I smile. I have a lot to smile about. He likes me. We\u2019re doing this. How exciting.<\/p>\n

He leans forward. \u201cCan I kiss you, Jude?\u201d he whispers.<\/p>\n

I feel those words in every part of me. \u201cYeah.\u201d I lick my lips. \u201cYou can.\u201d<\/p>\n

As pretty as he was at a distance, he\u2019s even more handsome close up. All of the shadows and lines of his face. It blows my mind how Lena left him for another. What a fool. Though I am kind of deeply grateful that she did. His lips are divine. No other word will do. And the thought of him pressing them against mine is making my stomach do a weird flip-flop thing. His lips are neither thin nor plump, but somewhere in between and perfect. I stare at them as he comes closer until he\u2019s pressing his mouth softly against mine.<\/p>\n

A sweet kiss, as if he\u2019s testing his welcome. The man needn\u2019t have bothered. I balance on the balls of my feet and join our lips once more, kissing him more insistently. I mean, we might as well figure out here and now if we have no chemistry. If he has no expertise. Because I kissed this male model once who was a tongue-wrangling disaster. Just a whole lot of wet-faced yuck. Sad, but true. It\u2019s not like I have kissed anyone in ages. Maybe I\u2019ve forgotten how it all works. Perhaps I\u2019ll be the disaster.<\/p>\n

Dean\u2019s hands grip my hips, and his tongue slips into my mouth and oh, yeah. Very nice. A lack of chemistry is obviously not going to be a problem between us. He kisses me deep and wet in a way that goes straight to my head. My fingers slide over the smooth warm skin of his shoulders before holding on tight. He is so solid and strong. One of his hands is now cupping the back of my head, holding me to him. As if I had any intention of leaving. Heck no. We kiss until my lips are numb and swollen and my mind is far away. Nothing else matters but this moment.<\/p>\n

He leans his forehead against mine, and we both take a moment to catch our breath. As first kisses go, it was stellar. My empty stomach, however, shows no cool and rumbles loudly. Talk about keeping it real.<\/p>\n
