Book #5 in the Lark Cove<\/i> series, I was so excited to be back in this world! This is a shorter read, a gorgeous story for Aubrey (sister of Logan, hero of book #1, Tattered<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Aubrey is a busy and successful career woman, having taken over her family\u2019s business empire, she works hard and is completely dedicated to continuing to build the family legacy. The area where she struggles in life, is with men. They don\u2019t understand her commitment to her job, or they want her for her money, or the connection that comes with her family name. She\u2019s just had her heart broken once again when Landon McLellan comes strolling into her office.<\/p>\n

Fans of the series may remember Landon as the Police officer who befriended Aubrey\u2019s sister, Sofia in Tinsel<\/a>. He is gorgeous, totally alpha, and an absolute sweetheart, and he\u2019s set his sites on Aubrey.<\/p>\n

OMG, I am so in love with Landon! He\u2019s a dream romance hero, such a good guy, but a little bit dirty, completely smitten with Aubrey and absolutely determined to her heart. He pursues her with single-minded resolve, not pushing her beyond what she\u2019s ready for, yet not prepared to put up with her fears, or her attempts to push him away. As she herself says, he is \u201cStubborn, yet patient. Insistent, yet relaxed.\u201d<\/i>. He is firm, yet playful, and dangerously sexy, and I am slightly obsessed with him.<\/p>\n

Fuck, but this was good. So fucking good. How could she not want this?\u201d Didn\u2019t she feel this connection? This intensity? You didn\u2019t walk away from something like this. You didn\u2019t turn your back on the potential of what this could be. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The romance builds really nicely. There is epic chemistry between them, and there\u2019s a bit of back and forth, but it\u2019s not frustrating at all because Landon knows where it\u2019s going, and he handles the situation perfectly. It\u2019s entertaining and flirtatious with fantastic sexual tension, and the passion between them is explosive. I loved watching these two come together.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want nothing from you but your heart.\u201d<\/em>
\n\u201cMaybe you already have it.\u201d<\/em>
\nMaybe I did. She sure as hell had mine. \u201cDon\u2019t plan on me giving it back.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We get to see a quick glance of Logan and Thea, and of their daughter, Charlie, all grown up. There is a hint of a future story for her, and I\u2019d be really excited to read that one!<\/p>\n

I loved this book. It\u2019s not a long one, but Perry tells Aubrey and Logan\u2019s story beautifully, with lots of emotion and heat. It\u2019s such a great read!<\/p>\n
