\u201cSometimes the things that <\/i>could have happened affect us almost as much as the things that did.\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This is a short and sweet novella, an almost-second-chance romance where two college friends finally get their chance at love. Released exclusively on Audible (and free with Audible membership), this is just under three hours listening time, and I happily listened to this book in a day.<\/p>\n

Tour\u00e9 and Niomi were close friends in college. They crushed madly on each other over the years, but never found themselves single at the same time, so their relationship was strictly platonic until one night, one kiss, which promised so much more. But then Tour\u00e9 left the US to finish his senior year in Europe, and life happened. For twenty years they have both followed their dreams \u2013 he is now an award-winning journalist and author, she is the host on a popular morning TV show. They\u2019re at the top of their games, which is why they\u2019ve both been invited back to their alma mater for a live interview during homecoming week.<\/p>\n

From the moment we see Tour\u00e9 and Niomi together, sparks are flying! The chemistry sizzles, and the sexual tension is intense. Knowing that this is his one shot, Tour\u00e9 decides to take it, and Niomi is right there with him. There\u2019s no messing around, just flirting, honest-talk, and the functionality of two people in their 40s who are don\u2019t want to play games, and who are ready to take a chance with the one person they haven\u2019t been able to forget about.<\/p>\n

Being such a short read, it’s fast moving, but Ryan still manages to build the story really well. We get to see Tour\u00e9 and Niomi reconnect with their college friends, and each other. It\u2019s flirty and sexy, and I loved how no-nonsense they are about finally exploring everything that is between them.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe now. After all these years. Maybe us.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Along with the romance, there\u2019s some great character development, which is really nicely done in such a short read, and there\u2019s an epilogue which provides a really satisfying finish for Tour\u00e9 and Niomi\u2019s story.<\/p>\n

Narrated by\u00a0Wesleigh Siobhan and Jakobi Diem, this is a cute read, and I enjoyed this one!<\/p>\n
