This book had me glued to my kindle, and the entire final third had my heart racing and madly flipping pages into the early hours of the morning, desperate to see what was coming next. I freaking loved it!<\/p>\n About this series – each of these books MUST be read in order. Beware spoilers below for previous books.<\/p>\n Picking up exactly where the last book and its hideous cliffhanger left us, we find Sera and Nyktos in Dalos, the home of Kolis, the false Primal of Life. It feels like a big shift in the series with this book, as most of the action takes place in Dalos, concentrating on Sera\u2019s interactions with Kolis and his court. It\u2019s intriguing, and a little disturbing as we spend time with the bad guy and come to understand just how complex he is. It\u2019s a slower pace than what I was expecting, and I was missing the action and the fun interplay that you usually get from this series, let alone the characters that I was expecting to be reading about. But it\u2019s a build-up, and we learn more about the world, Sera\u2019s role in it, and the realities of all that she and her friends and allies are planning.<\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019re brave, strong, and resilient. You don\u2019t need anyone to fight your battles. You never have. You don\u2019t now.\u201d<\/em> And then the story shifts, and holy damn. From a slower pace with lots of introspection, it\u2019s suddenly all happening, and all of that build-up was worth it for the epicness that is the second part of this story. I won\u2019t go into details, but if you\u2019re a fan of the series, this book will give you everything that you\u2019ve been hoping for\u2026 and more. It\u2019s exciting, there are fun moments, scenes that made me cheer and made me cry, and it’s a freaking swoonfest \u2013 passionate and blissfully romantic, it\u2019s everything I wanted for these two, and just\u2026 wow.<\/p>\n \u201cEven if I\u2019m not looking at you, you are still all I see \u2026 I see you, Sera. I always have.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n And, of course, there\u2019s the moment that that whole series has been building to \u2013 Sera\u2019s approaching Ascension. It\u2019s intense, and my heart was pounding as it all plays out, and even though you kinda know what to expect, when you\u2019re caught up in the moment, my emotions were all over the place, and I felt it all!<\/p>\n \u201cI know <\/i>who you are, Sera, and <\/i>what you mean to me.
