This is a fun and heartfelt best-friends-to-lovers romance that made me laugh and smile. With an irresistible hero and a fantastically entertaining fake dating storyline, it\u2019s such a great read, and I loved it!<\/p>\n

This is the third book in the The Sullivan Family<\/i> series, and it\u2019s the first I\u2019ve read by this author (that blurb and the teasers I had seen made it an irresistible read!). It reads fine as a standalone, but I\u2019m definitely keen to go back and read the earlier books to see how other couples in the series came together.<\/p>\n

Lee and Annie have known each other since they were kids. Their history is a bit complicated, but all they\u2019ve been through has brought them closer and they\u2019ve now been best friends for years. From the very beginning we can see that they\u2019re both feeling more<\/i> for each other, but they cherish their relationship, and neither of them want to jeopardise it by confessing their attraction. So they are platonic best friends, sharing their lives in all the platonic ways.<\/p>\n

Their small town\u2019s annual bachelor\/bachelorette auction proves to be their big turning point. Annie is up for auction, and Lee \u2013 watching other men bid on the woman he wants – snaps, bidding on his best friend, and winning her for six dates. As a bonus \u2013 if they\u2019re chosen as the town\u2019s favorite couple, they\u2019ll win enough money to help Annie out with her business plan, so they have every reason to fake it\u2026 except Lee never is.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy are you doing this?\u201d My eyes pleaded for him to understand what I was asking.
\nHis sage-gray eyes pinned me in place. The deep rumble of his voice filled the apartment. \u201cBecause I want to.\u201d
\n\u201cWhy?\u201d I pressed.
\nLee only scoffed lightly before moving towards the kitchen. He turned to smirk over his shoulder. \u201cYou\u2019re my girl\u201d.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This is a gorgeous friends-to-lovers romance! The ease of Lee and Annie together is beautiful, I loved the jokes, the playfulness, the unrequited love, and the all-out wonder when everything changes. It\u2019s fun and sexy (SO freaking sexy), and though the shift between them is huge, it feels natural.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought this was supposed to be fake.\u201d
\nI leaned down to whisper. \u201cNothing about the way I feel about you is fake. It never has been.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Lee was a reforming playboy. He\u2019s known for his manwhoring, but he\u2019s a guy who cares deeply, and when he finally wakes up to his feelings, he is one proudly devoted man. He\u2019s so accepting and matter of fact about it, he hides nothing, openly declaring and acting on his feelings. We see so many gorgeous moments between these two, and it\u2019s so much fun to watch!<\/p>\n

\nHis lips pressed into my hair. \u201cGlad you\u2019re finally catching up.\u201d
\nI tilted my head to grin at him. My stomach swooped at the soft way Lee looked at me.
\nHe dropped a kiss on my forehead. \u201cIt\u2019s always been you, baby.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There is some drama as they deal with their complicated past, but even in the midst of it all, they\u2019re functional \u2013 talking, working through their issues, and not holding back their feelings, and I loved seeing them figure everything out and proudly claim their HEA.<\/p>\n

This is such a gorgeous read. It made me smile and laugh, and I finished it feeling so happy for these two. I\u2019m looking forward to exploring more of the Sullivan family and their crazy little town.<\/p>\n

I loved it \u2013 4.5 stars!<\/p>\n
