The Stone\/Grant\/Horton families are deeply interwoven, but you can easily read the books as standalones as enough description is given to let you know who the key characters are in each story.<\/p>\n This is Christopher\u2019s book. He is the son of Justin and Caroline (their story is This Is Forever<\/a>, This Is, #4<\/i>) and, like most of the men in the family, he\u2019s a hockey player. His world is shaken when he learns that his best friend and teammate, Benji, has died suddenly, and he immediately leaves his big family holiday to return home to be there to support Benji\u2019s wife, Dakota, and their two daughters.<\/p>\n Dakota thought was living her dream life, until her husband changed into somebody she didn\u2019t recognise. Her heartbreak culminated in his tragic death by overdose on her couch, and now she\u2019s left dealing with grief and anger, and facing life as a single parent. But she\u2019s not doing it alone.<\/p>\n Christopher steps up and is right there by Dakota\u2019s side, being there for the girls, offering support and comfort and generally being an awesome guy. As time goes on, their feelings for each other start to change, and in the most beautifully natural, honest and heartfelt love story, they fall hopelessly for each other.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are both in unchartered territory.\u201d I smirk. \u201cAnd there is no one else I want to be unchartered with than you.\u201d I loved watching these two come together. They have some tricky dynamics to navigate and some complicated feelings to work through, but they do it together, and with a lot of soul-searching and openly sharing their feelings, their relationship is functional and romantic, and it\u2019s so gorgeous to watch.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen we go there, and we will get there Dakota.\u201d She smirks at me. \u201cIt\u2019s going to be the last time it\u2019ll be a first for both of us.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Christopher is such a great hero. He\u2019s got a huge heart, and he\u2019s so sweet with Dakota and her daughters. And, of course, he\u2019s sexy as hell, so the love story is hot and steamy, with lots of emotion and swoony moments.<\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019re mine. I\u2019m not sorry you\u2019re mine. I might be sorry about how it happened, but no way in fuck am I sorry for that.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n The whole family involves themselves, and there are scenes that had me laughing out loud at the antics and banter from Christopher\u2019s siblings, cousins, father and uncles. I loved being back with this group, and look forward to more adventures with the family.<\/p>\n This is a really gorgeous read. \nI came from the biggest hockey family in the NHL.
\nRecords were set by my grandfather, my father, and now my brother.
\nI was taught to love the game, but more than that, I learned early the men you play with are your family.
\nYou get on the ice every night and protect them, celebrate the wins, and pick each other up when you fall.
\nSo when we lost Benji, I stepped in to help his wife and kids, but this pull I feel when it comes to them is something more than I can even understand.<\/p>\n

\nGone was the husband I thought I knew and in his place was a stranger.
