It’s fun and playful with fabulous characters in a hilarious and sexy enemies-to-lovers, fake-relationship romance, while also brining the feels, and it’s a beautiful story that I absolutely loved.

Diana Dixon is smart, perky, confident and full of energy and ambition, she’s a cheerleader and a force of nature with a lot on her plate, but she’s loving her life. Her happy little world takes a turn when her mortal enemy, Shane, moves in to her apartment complex – right next door to her. Shane is a college hockey player, he’s a good guy with a huge heart and he’s coming off a bad breakup, and though he’s usually a relationship guy, he’s been a bit of a player of late. Diana has heard terrible things about him, and she’s determined to freeze him out and ignore him as much as possible, which means that he is determined to be all up in her face.

OMG, these two have the most fabulously entertaining love-hate dynamic. Diana hates Shane, and he loves to annoy her, and their interactions are full of snark, teasing and banter, and it’s brilliant! Things get complicated when issues with both of their exes mean that they need a fake partner and they conveniently turn to each other. So, in the midst of their constant arguing, they’re having to fake nice and get all touchy-feely, and it’s so much fun to watch.

“I told them I had a girlfriend.”
I start to laugh. “This is the greatest day of my life.”
“Oh, it gets better, Dixon. I told them it was you.”

They start to hang out, and they learn that there’s so much more to the other than they realised. They actually become friends, and when they can no longer deny their mad lust for each other, they become friend with benefits, and oh holy hell, they are so freaking hot together! The sexy time is sizzling and a little bit kinky, and they are insatiable for each other.

“Oh my God, why am I like this? You and your stupid dicksand.”
“Dicksand?”
“Yeah, like quicksand. But your dick is the trap, and I’ve been sucked into it.”
“Wouldn’t your pussy be the quicksand ’cause it’s the one sucking my dick into it?” We stare at each other for a moment. “Why are we like this?” he sighs.

They balance the blend of friendship, bickering and wild sex brilliantly, and it is a joy watching these two together. They care about each other and become protective of each other, and easily and naturally, everything changes between them. They both know it’s happening, they just let it happen, and they find themselves in the most beautiful relationship.

Being with Diana is like discovering a piece of myself that I never knew was missing. She makes me want to be the best version of myself, not because I feel like I have to impress her but because she inspires me to be better.

Together, they navigate college, sports, competitive ballroom dancing, their neighbours, friends and family with wit, humour and skill. And though it’s a fun, enjoyable read, full of moments that had me laughing out loud, there is drama in the story and scenes that pack one hell of an emotional punch. This book had me in tears, but all of the emotion works to help the characters develop and show just how much they have each other’s backs.

All of the different elements of the story come together so well and though there is drama, there is very little angst, and I loved watching Shane and Diana work their way through it all, while falling so deeply in love. The romance is fun, sexy, emotional and so beautifully swoony, and I loved these two together so much.

“You have no idea how much I love you. It’s almost pathetic.
Never saw it coming, Dixon. But you’re everything to me. I don’t know when it happened, but it’s true. You’re the heartbeat of my days. You’re the reason I look forward to tomorrow. I honestly never thought I’d find someone who understands me so completely.”

We get to see characters that were introduced in the first book, as well as some of the original Off Campus crew, which I loved! You can easily read this one as a standalone, but of course you’ll enjoy the cameos more if you’ve read the first book, the Off Campus and the Briar U series. There’s a lead-in to the next book of the series, which looks like it’s going to be really interesting, and I cannot wait to continue on with the series.

I loved this one! 5 stars.

Campus Diaries

<img data-recalc-dims="1" decoding="async"
