A fun and heartfelt forbidden-ish romance with fantastic characters, epic chemistry, and a gorgeous love story, it\u2019s another fabulous read from Kate Canterbary, and I loved this book!<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/i>\u00a0meets a gender-swapped\u00a0Wedding Crashers<\/i>\u00a0in this spicy rom-com about a one-night stand with The One, walking the tightrope of love and workplace ethics, and knowing which rules are worth breaking.<\/b><\/p>\n Every summer, superstar surgeon Whitney Aldritch crashes weddings with her best friend. The first one was an accident though after a decade of dropping in uninvited, they\u2019re masters of their craft. They keep the rules simple and they never go to bed alone.<\/p>\n Then there\u2019s Henry Hazlette, best man and the best one-night stand of Whit\u2019s summer. She never imagined she\u2019d see him again but now he\u2019s one of her new surgical residents\u2014and completely off-limits.<\/p>\n Whitney has staked her reputation on leading the hospital\u2019s new ethics initiative. While Henry is under her supervision, they have to keep it professional. But it doesn\u2019t help that she can\u2019t turn around without running face-first into his offensively broad chest or rubbing up against him in crammed elevators. And as a long-time fangirl, I was so freaking excited to see these characters again!<\/p>\n Whitney and her best friend are both surgeons in Boston, and to blow off steam they spend their annual summer holiday crashing weddings. It\u2019s lots of fun, and a great way to find a hook up for the night. But trouble strikes when they return to work and Whitney\u2019s latest hook up, Henry, turns out to be her new resident. She\u2019s his boss, and they need to keep not only their past a secret, but also the sexual tension that sparks back to life the moment they lay eyes on each other.<\/p>\n It’s such a great set-up, the dynamic is fun, and the chemistry is insane! The attraction between Whitney and Henry is off-the-charts hot. They want each other badly, every moment between them is simmering with tension, and I loved watching them battle their mad lust and growing feelings for each other.<\/p>\n I knew it wasn\u2019t a one-time thing. I knew this was how it was with us and that realization made it hard to breathe because she was real. I\u2019d imagined nothing. Exaggerated nothing. Whitney was real and we were electric and I could never go back to not knowing. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Along the way, we get to experience the dramas of the hospital, office politics, the friendships that get them through their difficult days, and nights out together, and this is a great bunch of characters that bring a lot to the story. But Whitney and Henry are also dealing with drama outside of the hospital that add to their already stressful lives, and I was so invested in all of it.<\/p>\n Through it all, Henry owned my heart. The man is a gentle giant, and absolute sweetheart who is smitten with the unforgettable woman from his summer. He\u2019s caring, thoughtful and protective, there for Whitney whenever she needed somebody, and I just adored him.<\/p>\n \u201cHenry. <\/i>Please.\u201d I love the way these two navigated the challenges they faced, they are sensible and functional, and though it\u2019s hard at times, they work their way through it all together. I loved their banter and the honesty between them, and I loved watching them come together. The romance is sexy and intense with beautifully developing emotion, and I smiled so many times as they fell so hard for each other.<\/p>\n \u201cI love you exactly the way you are and I want this because you cleaved my life into two parts that night. There\u2019s before and there\u2019s after, and even when I had hardly any hope of finding you, I still wanted the after.\u201d <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n This is a great read, with all of the heart, humour and romance that I love about Kate Canterbary\u2019s writing.
