The long-awaited final book of the Archana Chroicles<\/i>, this book brings about the conclusion to a wonderfully imaginative, supernatural, post-apocalyptic saga based on the cards of the tarot.<\/p>\n

Fighting in the current cycle of an ancient battle against evil Arcana, Evie, the Empress of Arcana is holed up with Aric and a small bunch of allies, while Jack and their other friends are off on a mission of their own, all of them fighting to end the game and return the world to right again. But despite the friendly alliances, there can only be one left standing.<\/p>\n

This book dives right back into the action after the last book left us hanging with so many questions for so long. Though it has been a while since I read the last book, I was right back on board and swept up in the drama and action of it all. As anticipated, there are losses and triumphs, and I felt a lot of emotion along the way.<\/p>\n

Evie\u2019s character development throughout the series has been so good. She\u2019s grown in strength, she knows who she is, and she knows what she\u2019s fighting for, and she\u2019s unapologetic about all of it. Her relationships with Aric and Jack continue to be a key part of the story and the love triangle continues \u2013 both boys completely besotted with her, and that fact is now just a given to all three involved – and as invested as I was in the overall story, it was the romance that held my heart, and I thought that aspect of the story was well handled.<\/p>\n

Given the supernatural nature of the series and the things that have to happen to get a conclusion, the events are mostly expected (but no less shocking), and there are some twists thrown in there. I wasn\u2019t expecting the extent of story that we got and was surprised at the way it all played out. And I loved the unexpected.<\/p>\n

The book finishes off the series well with closure for the multiple storylines that we\u2019ve followed so closely. It\u2019s not a perfectly happy ending for everybody, but after all of the ups and downs, I thought it was a fitting ending for the series.<\/p>\n

A great read \u2013 3.5 stars.<\/p>\n

I listened to this entire series on audio, and Emma Galvin does a wonderful job narrating. It\u2019s a great story to listen to.<\/p>\n
