The third and final book in the Montgomery Brothers<\/i> series, this is the story of youngest brother, Jack, in a best-friend\u2019s-sister, fake-relationship romance that is fun and sweet with a gorgeous romance.<\/p>\n

Jack is a playful, happy-go-lucky kind of guy with a reputation as being a bit of a player, but he\u2019s an absolute softie, a golden retriever hero with a heart of gold. He keeps his life simple and doesn\u2019t make connections beyond his family, and then Monroe comes back into his life.<\/p>\n

Monroe is the younger sister of Jack\u2019s best friend. She\u2019s an ambitious journalist who has just started working at Montgomery media, and though she used to crush badly on Jack, she\u2019s determined now to keep her distance from him. Until circumstances lead them into a mutually beneficial pretend relationship, which gets them up close and personal.<\/p>\n

I love these tropes, and loved watching Jack and Monroe get all touch-feely, feeling all sorts of things they know they shouldn\u2019t be, but unable to stop their growing attraction. In a fun twist on the trope, it\u2019s not until they publicly break-up that they reach the point where they decide to give a relationship a go for real, but Jack\u2019s never been in a relationship, Monroe is determined to protect herself from being hurt, and her brother is wildly overprotective and will be furious to learn that they\u2019re together.<\/p>\n

They have issues to deal with, for sure, but I loved watching these two get to know each other as adults while tentatively exploring their connection. It\u2019s sweet, fun, emotional and seriously steamy. There\u2019s so much feeling between them, and they\u2019re both so new to all they are feeling and the strength of their attraction to each other. I loved watching them fall so hard and so completely for each other.<\/p>\n

It’s a mostly angst-free read, and though there is a bit of drama thrown in towards the end of the book, it\u2019s external to the relationship and doesn\u2019t really impact the story in any way, and I enjoyed this romance, and watching these two get their HEA.<\/p>\n

Being the family-oriented guy that he is, there\u2019s a lot of time spent with Jack\u2019s brothers and their girls, and I loved catching up with the couples from the previous books. There is an epilogue which gives us a glimpse into the future for all of the characters, and I finished this one with a big smile on my face.<\/p>\n

Such a sweet read \u2013 3.5 stars.<\/p>\n
