Oh holy hotness, what a fantastic read! An enemies-to-lovers, brother\u2019s-best-friend romance with all the chemistry, all the steam, all the feels, and a sweet, sexy, protective hero to die for. Jack and Wren\u2019s story had me glued from start to finish, and I loved this book!<\/p>\n

This is book #4 in the Boston\u2019s Irresistible Billionaires<\/i> series. There is a lot of character crossover with earlier couples in the series, as well as previous books by J. Saman. This is a second-gen series from several of Saman\u2019s other series, and I have found it impossible to keep up with who is who, but it really doesn\u2019t matter, I\u2019m loving this series, and you can enjoy these books without all the background, and this one reads well as a standalone.<\/p>\n

Wren and Jack have known each other for most of their lives. He is the best friend of her older brother, and she has loved him for as long as she can remember. One night they both find themselves at a masked Halloween party, and some intense flirting and banter leads to a hot hook-up. It\u2019s Wren\u2019s first time, and it\u2019s not until they\u2019re in the middle of it all when they realise who the other is. Despite their shock, they finish the deed, but their evening does not end well. Things deteriorate from there.<\/p>\n

Five years later, and Wren is a fourth-year medical student on rotation in Jack\u2019s ER. They have spent the last five years bitching and fighting with each other, so working together every day is wildly unpleasant. It gets even more awkward when they learn that they are neighbours, with Jack moving into the apartment right next to Wren\u2019s. Their lives are tied together in all kinds of ways, and their anger and arguing only gets worse until all of that tension ignites into wild hate sex that rocks both of their worlds.<\/p>\n

I can\u2019t take this anymore. I can\u2019t take the want. The weird yearning for the illicit.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There\u2019s hate sex, and then there\u2019s hate<\/i> sex. This is the latter. They hate each other\u2026 more specifically, they hate that they want each other so badly. Their attraction to each other is undeniable, and neither of them want it, which creates all kinds of ragey feelings, and the chemistry is absolutely electric!<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve tried to let you go so many times, but I can\u2019t. I\u2019m done with this bullshit. I\u2019m done pretending I don\u2019t want you every second of every minute of every hour of every day. I can\u2019t let you go.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

They have some ups and downs as they wade through their difficult past and all of those years of intense emotion, but inevitably spending more time together and sharing such a sizzling attraction, everything begins to change for these two, and I was right there with them as they figure it all out.<\/p>\n

\u201cI never regretted you. It was everything else I didn\u2019t know how to handle.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

God, I love these two together! Their animosity is so entertaining, the deep affection they have for each other is beautiful, and the sexy time is off the charts hot. They\u2019re both a bit kinky, and they explore that in ALL the ways, and damn, this book is steamy.<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s the love story that captured me so completely. Once they start to actually talk to each other, they really<\/i> talk. They\u2019re open and honest, they\u2019re sensible and functional, and they work through their issues, support each other through challenges, and share their feelings in the most beautiful way. Jack has already fallen so hard for Wren, and it\u2019s an easy fall for her as she finally allows all of her old feelings to resurface stronger than ever, and I loved watching these two fall so hopelessly and completely for each other.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s you, Wren. All this time, it\u2019s been you \u2026 You own me. I want this. I want you. And I told you before, I\u2019m tired of fighting it. I <\/i>can\u2019t fight it anymore.\u201d

There are some dramas that they have to deal with \u2013 firstly there is a ten-year age gap, then there\u2019s Wren\u2019s protective older brother, and the fact that they work with each other. I loved watching them work through it all, standing strong together and fighting hard for their HEA.<\/p>\n

I loved seeing so much of the other characters from the series. The dynamics of this group are so much fun, and I loved seeing them all together. Keegan\u2019s book is up next, and I\u2019m so excited for that one.<\/p>\n

I loved this story. It\u2019s sexy and emotional, I loved the characters, and I love how I felt everything right alongside them. Saman always gets me so invested in her books, and this one was no different.<\/p>\n

Such a great read – 5 stars.<\/p>\n
