Wow. Like many other readers, I was gobsmacked by this book, and really don\u2019t know what to say. It\u2019s funny, it\u2019s beautiful, it\u2019s tragic and romantic, and it\u2019s so beautifully written. It had me all up in my feels, struggling to put it down, and it\u2019s an absolutely amazing read.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the story of Parker, a young woman who is trying to get her life together after finding out her long-term boyfriend and her twin sister were having an affair. She lost herself in grief and pity, and an epic revenge plot, but now it\u2019s time to grow up. Moving into her grandparent\u2019s old farmhouse, she befriends her new neighbour, Gus, and gets a job working as Gus\u2019 wife, Sabrina\u2019s personal assistant. It\u2019s not the job she dreamed of, but it\u2019s a job. And as Sabrina jetsets all over the country, it\u2019s up to Parker to keep things organised at home. The problem is that that means more time around Gus, and as much as she likes being around him, she can\u2019t help her growing feelings for him.<\/p>\n

It’s such a cleverly written story. Parker hates cheaters, and I have to agree with her, so she\u2019s so conflicted over her feelings for her boss\u2019s husband. She hates that she feels it, but she can\u2019t deny it, and with Gus stuck in a marriage he doesn\u2019t recognise and falling for Parker too, they\u2019re in a dangerous position.<\/p>\n

And then life happens. It\u2019s a wild ride that is unexpected and emotional, and I could not stop listening to this book.<\/p>\n

I could understand where Parker was at, her emotions and her reactions, and how her story played out. It wasn\u2019t always easy to read, but I was right with her as she journeys to understand herself, move on from her past, find her place and accept life-changing love.<\/p>\n

Speaking of – the romance is so beautiful. It\u2019s underpinned with drama but it\u2019s fun and lighthearted, sexy, swoony, functional and so damn easy, and I loved watching it unfold.<\/p>\n

Jewel E. Ann has a gift for storytelling. You never know what you\u2019re going to get, and this is another beautifully written story that made me think and made me feel, and I loved it so much.<\/p>\n

I listened to this as an audiobook, narrated by Tia Rider Sorensen, and it\u2019s a great one to listen to!<\/p>\n
