The fourth and final book in the Rose Hill<\/i> series, this a forbidden, age-gap, grumpy\/sunshine romance with great characters, fantastic chemistry, and an emotional, slow burning love story. Bash and Gwen\u2019s story is beautifully written, and I loved this book.<\/p>\n

The last book gave us a hint Bash\u2019s story, with something<\/i> brewing between Bash and Gwen. This book takes us back to a year previously when they first met and shared a night stuck in an airport due to bad weather. Gwen\u2019s bright and bubbly personality won over grumpy, antisocial Bash, and they spent the night talking, playing, and laughing together. They planned to meet up again but it never eventuated.<\/p>\n

Now, a year later, Gwen has now moved to Bash\u2019s small mountain town and the chemistry between them still sizzles. They\u2019ve never forgotten about the other, looking back at their first meeting as a huge missed opportunity. Only now there\u2019s an added complication to their attraction \u2013 in the time since they met, Gwen unknowingly briefly dated Bash\u2019s son. Bash has only recently learned that he had an adult son, and though he\u2019s hugely antisocial, he longs for a family, and he desperately wants a relationship with him, and he knows pursuing Gwen is a line he cannot cross. But when circumstances lead to the two of them living in the same house, the sexual tension becomes unavoidable. Gwen understands Bash\u2019s refusal, but the more time they spend together, the more she just wants to dive on in. But Bash tries his best to ignore it, being his usual grumpy self, and trying to keep his distance.<\/p>\n

The emotion in this book is so, so good! You can feel the longing between these two, and watching them dance around each brings the chemistry. The anticipation builds from the very beginning of the book, and it\u2019s a slow burn waiting for them to act on it, and I was feeling all of the delicious tension.<\/p>\n

\u201cGwen, I need you. Like my next breath. It\u2019s\u2026 I can\u2019t breathe without you.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

They do reach their breaking point, and the romance is hot, steamy and full of emotion, and I loved seeing them come together. They both come into it with different backgrounds and experiences, and seeing them so easily and naturally find something so amazing together melted my heart.<\/p>\n

There is drama, and it works to create tension and escalate the feels, and it\u2019s so well done. The relationship remains functional throughout, and I loved watching them finally work through their challenges to find their happy ending.<\/p>\n

The rest of the boys and girls from the series are all a part of the story, and I loved catching up with them! The boys together are so entertaining, and I loved seeing them all happy, loved up, and loving their lives. And Crazy Clyde brings so much to this story. His filterless commentary and attempts to \u2018help\u2019 are so entertaining, and I enjoyed the little family unit they create together.<\/p>\n

This is a really enjoyable read. I would have loved to see more romance, and didn\u2019t think we needed quite that much build up, but this is a gorgeous love story, and a great finish to the series.<\/p>\n

I listened to this as an audiobook, narrated by Connor Crais and Megan Wicks, and they do a wonderful job. Like the rest of the books in the series, this is a great one to listen to.<\/p>\n
