He is found naked and unconscious in the snow and taken in by Jillian – an independent, very private woman living an isolated life while she recovers from the death of her parents and a tragic demon attack that left her scarred and afraid.

When Reseph wakes, he finds himself in her bed, and we immediately see that the funloving, manwhoring playboy lives on…

“I can’t remember…anything.” He pushed up, his shoulders and biceps flexing with power, and looked down at his naked body. “Did we fuck?”
She nearly choked. “No.”
“Why not?” …
“Because we’re complete strangers.”
He lifted his head. “So?”
So? This was not going well. “Look, maybe you should, ah, get off me, and we’ll discuss everything over dinner.”
“Dinner?” he grinned, and good Lord, he was stunning when he wasn’t scaring her half to death. “Totally on board with that. I’m starving. Maybe we could fuck first?”

Over the course of trying to figure out who Reseph is and where he has come from, the two of them realise that they can’t fight the insane chemistry between them – so they don’t. HOLY HOTNESS!! These two are seriously steamy together! And it doesn’t take long for Jillian to reluctantly start to fall for the mysterious man staying at her house and rocking her world night after night, and Reseph, although not knowing his past, knows that he hasn’t felt for anybody the way he feels about Jillian.

“I need you in bed tonight, Jillian. I need more than a fuck. I need to make love to you until neither one of us can move, because after tonight, I don’t want there to be even the slightest doubt that you’re mine.”

“I love you, Jillian. I love you, and I want this to be the start of something new.” … “I love this life, I love you, and I want to start our lives together now.”
“You’re… serious?”
“Can you handle not knowing who I was? … Can you deal with the man I am now?”
“Yes,” she whispered in a husky rasp. “Oh, yes.”
“Good,” he said, lowering his mouth to her throat. “Because the man I am now is who I want to be. Forever.”

Of course, this is when Reseph suddenly gets his memory back. The sudden reappearance of his siblings, who have learned of his survival, triggers the return of his memories of his time as Pestilence, and he is disgusted with himself. Locked in Ares’ house for his own safety, he is tormented by his memories, and becomes crazed, unreachable to anybody who tries to help him. Jillian is brought to him, and is the only one that can soothe him, but can she look past the horrific things that he, as Pestilence, has done, not only to the world, but to her? And is she even safe with him? For Pestilence isn’t dead. He still lives within Reseph, and it’s up to the previously irresponsible Horseman to keep him restrained, but how does that work when he is being ruthlessly hunted by some of the nastiest creatures in the underworld, hell-bent on releasing him?

It’s a wild ride, and I LOVED how it all played out!!! I totally fell for Reseph, and my heart broke for him watching him realise all that he had done. His strength and determination to do anything to try and make things right, is amazing. And I love the way that he and Jillian fight to be together, despite everything that stands in their way.

I’ve gotta admit, I was a little worried about how I would feel reading this one, and was wondering how Ione would pull it off, but she did a sensational job. Looking at things from a different perspective, she was able to redefine her characters, and although they are the same Horsemen that I have loved through three books, we get to see them in a slightly different light here, and I thought that was really clever.

The story is well paced, with multiple POVs so there are storylines running all over the place, but it’s all linked in beautifully. There is a big, kick-ass finale where everybody comes together to fight the bad guy, and it’s all pretty freaking epic. There are also some sensational twists for Reaver and Harvester, and I cannot WAIT to get my grabby little hands on Reaver’s book!

Giving us her usual mix of fantastic characters, humour, action, mythology and a beautiful romance, Ione has given us another epic story in her Lords of Deliverance series. I absolutely loved it!

5 stars.

For more information about the Lords of Deliverance series – including series reading order – please check out our Demonica / Lords of Deliverance Series page.

Buy: Kindle Ebook | Paperback Review Alright, anything I say about this book is going to be a massive spoiler for the earlier books in the series, so I will warn you not to click […]

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false

79,454,10,9,29
87,42,395,48
post-9419","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-action","category-audio-recommendation","category-paranormal","category-romance","category-steamy","tag-demonica","tag-larissa-ione","tag-lords-of-deliverance","tag-review
https://i0.wp.com/www.escapistbookblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Rogue-Rider.jpg?fit=150%2C224&ssl=1
["GET
