The thrilling conclusion of Katy Regnery’s first paranormal romance series!

HAPPILY EVER AFTER…

To some, they’re just words signifying a fairytale ending.
For me, Jack Beauloup, they represent an unyielding desire:
Forever with Darcy Turner, the unexpected love of my life.
A love that has placed her human life in danger.
According to Pack Law, my binding is an abomination that must be severed.
It’s ignited a fiery hatred that I must confront and control.
But what is bound cannot be broken.
I will keep Darcy safe.
Even if it means giving up on my dreams.
Even if it means giving up my life.

4.5 stars!

It’s You (Book Two) by Katy Regnery (writing as K.P. Kelley) is the conclusion to Darcy and Jack’s love story. This is a duet and thus It’s You (Book One) must be read first to fully understand and appreciate this beautiful and magical romance.  Once again, we are thrown into the world of the Roux-ga-roux and it is intense. In this book we get more emotion, more angst, and more of the Roug mysteries. It’s heartbreaking, frustrating, and painful to read, but there is love, so much love.

Book Two picks up a few days after the ending of Book One. Darcy is alone and hurting. After leaving Jack, she tries her hardest to get over him and heal her broken heart. She would do anything not to love him, but the truth remains, she does and she always will. She wants to understand everything she learned about his life and what he is but it hurts so much. She pushes thoughts away to try to ease her pain, but suddenly a new problem transpires and now Jack is back. Darcy is in danger and she needs protection. Like it or not, Jack is her only option and they are about to be thrown together no matter how painful it will be. Once one danger is taken care of another closes in. It seems that too many obstacles are getting in their way and pulling them apart in different directions. When all is said and done, is there a future for Darcy and Jack?

“If I am your soul, then you are my heart. You are the strength of my life beating in my chest, and if you die, I die.”

I love this duet!  This intense story is full of suspense, mystery, and love. As expected, this book is as well-written as the first and completely captivating from the start. It’s a fascinating story that is well-developed and has complex characters that are amazing together.

Jack was wonderful. He wanted Darcy to be happy and would do anything for her. I loved his big heart and that he was willing to push his desires to the back and bring her needs and wants fully to the forefront. Nothing but Darcy mattered to Jack and I felt the depth of his love for her. He remained sweet, supportive, and a total alpha. He was also vulnerable and far from perfect which made him even more likable. I loved that he showed his strength and never gave up protecting her.

I adored Darcy.  She fell in love and she fell hard. Even though she fought her feelings when she found out what Jack was, I loved that she went all in when she realized that he was the one for her and there was no turning back.

Belonging to Jack wasn’t about some kiss when she was a kid. It was about her heart recognizing his in the great, grey chaos of the world and claiming it…It wasn’t about loving him when it made sense – it was about loving him even when it didn’t.

Her love was unconditional and true. I loved her loyalty and understanding. She is so smart and wanted to make things work any way possible. I loved her commitment to Jack and the things she was willing to do for him.

Their connection is just as strong, if not stronger, than before and I loved it. Everything that Darcy and Jack felt, I felt too. The pain, confusion, anger, longing, frustration, and love, I felt it all. This story brings on the angst and my heart hurt with everything Darcy and Jack went through.  Their feelings were strong and their actions were believable because of the bond between them. And I felt that bond deep in my soul.

Overall, I really enjoyed the conclusion of this love story.  Their love was true and I fully believed in it from the beginning. What they went through to fight for a HEA was heartbreaking, but through all the challenges and dangers, it was worth it in the end. I loved it and I hope to see more PNRs written by Katy Regnery in the near future.

About the Author

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katy Regnery started her writing career by enrolling in a short story class in January 2012. One year later, she signed her first contract and Katy’s first novel was published in September 2013.

Twenty-five books later, Katy claims authorship of the multi-titled, New York Times and USA Today Blueberry Lane Series, which follows the English, Winslow, Rousseau, Story, and Ambler families of Philadelphia; the six-book, bestselling ~a modern fairytale~ series; and several other standalone novels and novellas.

Katy’s first modern fairytale romance, The Vixen and the Vet, was nominated for a RITA® in 2015 and won the 2015 Kindle Book Award for romance. Katy’s boxed set, The English Brothers Boxed Set, Books #1–4, hit the USA Today bestseller list in 2015, and her Christmas story, Marrying Mr. English, appeared on the list a week later. In May 2016, Katy’s Blueberry Lane collection, The Winslow Brothers Boxed Set, Books #1-4, became a New York Times E-book bestseller.

In 2016, Katy signed a print-only agreement with Spencerhill Press. As a result, her Blueberry Lane paperback books will now be distributed to brick and mortar bookstores all over the United States.

Katy lives in the relative wilds of northern Fairfield County, Connecticut, where her writing room looks out at the woods, and her husband, two young children, two dogs, and one Blue Tonkinese kitten create just enough cheerful chaos to remind her that the very best love stories begin at home.
