The Struggle Synopsis

A bloody path has been chosen…

The war against the Titans continues, and they remain determined to wreak havoc on the world, but Seth has become something all gods fear. Now the most dangerous, most absolute power no longer resides in those who have been freed from their tombs.

The Great War fought by the few is coming…

All may doubt and fear what Seth has become. All except the one woman who might be his final chance at redemption. Josie will do anything to prove that Seth is on their side, but fate has a nasty way of changing lives, of changing people.

In the end, the sun will fall…

The only way they can save the future and save themselves is by facing the unknown together. It will take more than trust and faith. It will take love and the kind of strength not easily broken. No matter what, their lives will never be the same.

For what the gods have feared has come to pass. The end of the old is here and the beginning of the new has been ushered in…

Top 5 Seth Moments

There is something about Seth that is just so addictive. He’s the bad boy, the joker, the arrogant and sarcastic ass that is so easy to love. Seeing him in the Covenant series is one thing, but seeing him as the hero in his own series gives us a whole lot more Seth and I, for one, am loving it!

Seth’s sarcastic arrogance is part of his charm and his constant snark, and even his inner monologue had me laughing so many times. But more than that, seeing Seth as a romantic hero is something truly special as he brings his special brand of humour, arrogance, big-heartedness and flat-out sex appeal to a whole new level!

It was hard to narrow down just 5 favourite Seth moments – and some of these are general rather that one specific moment in time – but they are all big standouts to me, and putting this post together has been a blast as I’ve relived them all over again.

So here we go (listed in book order)…

Seth’s Sacrifice (Sentinel, Covenant series, #5)

Starting off with a deep and meaningful one, this is a multi-parter, because the ending of The Sentinel is full of awesome moments showing Seth’s huge heart. His relationship with Alex was complex and tumultuous, but in the end he showed exactly what she meant to him – in more ways than one. He was there for her when she needed him, and his sacrifice for her hurt my heart. It was a tragic but beautiful way for him to let her go, and my heart aches still remembering those final scenes.

Don’t leave me. Please? I don’t want to be by myself.”
“You’re not.” Seth slipped his arms around me, holding me close. “You’re not alone … You’ll never be alone, Angel. I promise you.”

Surprisingly Falling (The Return)

One of my favourite things about the Titan series has been seeing Seth step away from being the Apollyon. In the Covenant series it defined him, in the Titan series, for the first time, he has somebody in his life who sees him as more than just the Apollyon. Finally somebody cares about him for him, and not for who he is or what he is capable of, and I love the added depth we get when we start to see his vulnerability. And the fact that it’s Josie, who he is already coming to care for, means that he’s finally in a position to open himself up to somebody, and it’s the start of a whole new experience for him.

He shot forward, clasping my cheeks. “Say it again.”
“Say what?” I replied, gripping his wrists. “I said a lot of things. Help me out here.”
“Say that I’m not just the Apollyon,” he whispered, his voice harsh.
Tears built in my throat. “You’re not just the Apollyon, Seth.”
His eyes drifted shut, his face tensed as his fingers splayed across my cheeks. “I don’t even know who I am anymore. Or what I ever was.”
Oh goodness, that ripped right through my chest. “You’re just…you’re just Seth.”
A tremor moved through his arms. “And you…you’re just my salvation.”

Holy Hottie-McHotters! (The Power)

When we first met Seth in the Covenant series, it was all very YA. The Titan series moves Seth into NA territory, and finally seeing Seth unleash his sexed-up, alpha hotness is quite the experience! Holy gods!

“Every day I want you, Josie. I want everything about you. I see you and I want to get between those thighs and spend a lifetime there. I want to get so deep in you that you can’t tell where you end and I begin. I want to taste you and fuck you until I don’t know anything else. Constantly. I want more than that. Not going to lie. I want to hold you.”

But my fave hot Seth moment is the first time he and Josie do the deed, because OMG! There had been so much lead up to the big event, with lots of touching, kissing and flirty talk, so when the time comes it’s all very emotional and he is gentle, tender and generous with the foreplay (everything you would want him to be) but then he totally cuts loose and it’s all kinds of sexy. I mean, he holds her up off the freaking bed! I don’t care who you are, that’s just all kinds of hotness right there.

Seth’s restraint broke. No longer holding himself back, the pump of his hips lost all rhythm as he shoved his arm under my lower back. He lifted me up, sealing me tight to him as he ground against me, sending another wave of exquisite pleasure. He extended his other arm, up my back, holding me off the bed as his hips pounded forward. His strength was overwhelming. He held me up and he took me like I . . . like I wanted to be taken. The moment was incredible, like nothing I’d ever experienced before.
Then he was on me, pressing me down into the mattress, not an inch of space separating us as he kissed me hard. His hips jerked once and then twice, and then I could feel him pulsing.
Seth said my name against my lips, and it felt like forever passed while our hearts slowed and the sweat cooled on our skin.

DAYUM!

Meeting Hercules (The Power)

Seths’ snark and sarcasm is pretty much constant and is one of the things I enjoy the most about him – it always makes me laugh. The majority of Seth’s relationships with other characters of the series border on antagonistic, which makes for some fantastic dynamics, and whether it’s intentional put-downs or teasing banter, the back-and-forth is absolute gold! And nobody brings out Seth’s snarky side like the douche that is Hercules. Yes… the Hercules. No matter how many times I read it, this epic line always makes me laugh.

“I know. I know. Seeing me, the Hercules, is hard to believe, that such a legend could be-”.
“I know this is hard to believe … but I don’t care, and if you could, like, I don’t know, eat shit and shut the fuck up, I’d be forever grateful.”

Seth in Love (The Struggle)

Watching Seth fall in love with Josie is a gorgeous part of the Titan series. Their relationship has been constantly evolving, and you can literally see them falling harder and harder for each other as the series goes on. The Struggle sees Seth completely and utterly in love, and even though they have their ups and downs, that is never in doubt.

He is a fierce and protective partner. Bold, sexy, funny and sweet, and with everything that he and Josie have been through, he is unquestionably committed her, and when he lays it all out for her in The Struggle, I was in a pile of swoon.

“I’m not leaving you. We’re in this together, Josie … If there is anything in this world, there is us.”

So much awesomeness from such an amazing character.  I am loving Seth and Josie’s journey through this series, and can’t wait to see what’s in store for them next in the final instalment of the series.

If you haven’t met Seth yet, I hope this gives you a taste of what you’re missing – check out the full series details below.
