6 EPIC STARS!!!!!!

“Faye, honey, breathe.”

Good advice for anybody reading this book! I knew this would be 5-stars before I even looked at it, but it’s just shot straight into the favourites pile – which is getting kinda Kristen Ashley-heavy, I’ve gotta say!

I loved this book from the first page, and it kept me gripped the whole way through. Mostly I was grinning like an idiot, but there was also some shrieking, sobbing, heart palpitations, and massive amounts of swoon.

I adored Faye! She is incredibly relatable, and the more I read about her, the more I realised that she’s just like us! She’s a geek with an “online geek squad”, and she loves her books passionately (every time she crawled into bed with Chace and read while he slept, I got a huge grin on my face!). But behind the shy, quiet, librarian demeanour, she’s a strong woman with sass and a great sense of humour – I was in hysterics whenever she broke into geek-speak, and at the Han/Greedo reference, I actually had to put my kindle down I was laughing so hard. She knows she’s a geek, and she absolutely owns it, and I loved that about her!

Chace… utter perfection!! Seriously, apart from a little blip in the beginning which he made up for almost instantly, he was absolutely perfect. And unlike other KA men can be, he wasn’t overly aggressive or pushy or demanding in any way. He had some serious demons to battle, but I loved that he didn’t let them totally overcome him; despite the darkness that he has been through, he didn’t let it stop him from being with the woman he wanted, who he saw as clean and pure. He was incredibly gentle and tender with Faye, he joked and laughed with her, and made her feel safe. They had some beautifully swoony moments together, and I was more and more smitten with every word that came out of this mouth. And of course, he was incredibly freaking HOT! Wow, some of those scenes were smoking, but also beautiful – the hand holding thing was gorgeous! Oh, and he cried! I loved that! He was a big, strong, badass Alpha but he cried – twice! It made me love him even more. I honestly cannot gush enough about him.

I loved these two together!! I loved that they were both quiet, that they didn’t want grand gestures, that all they wanted was a simple life together.

I’d walk to the ends of the earth hand in hand with Chace Keaton and all he had to do to get me to do it was kiss me deep, smile at me, hold my hand and call me baby.

You and me both, Faye!

I loved that they were totally obsessed with each other before the book even started, so when they finally came together it was natural, it moved at a great pace, they were honest with each other, and there was no stupidness. And the fact that we got the story in both of their POVs was brilliant! Chace had a dark past, and watching him wrestle with that, at the same time watching him fall for Faye, was amazing. And of course, Faye was a strong character who was there for her man, and gave him just as much as he gave her.

The best heroes always have scars. If they didn’t, the heroine would have nothing to do. It’s her job to help the hero let all that stuff go in order that her man can be strong enough to fight on but when he’s with her he’s free to just ‘breathe’.

It’s not often a heroine can make me swoon, but this line just floored me! Brilliant!

I love the way that KA links her books together. I always love seeing what characters from previous books are up to, and the way she effortlessly brings them in to form a part of her new stories is pure genius! This is a HUGE part of this book, with many previous characters featuring in the story and giving us some sensationally squee-worthy moments!!! Faye’s family were also amazing (loved the fatherly chat that Silas had with Chace), and I loved Miah, and his relationship with Chace and Faye – especially since we got to see that storyline play out all the way *sob sob!*.

KA is the master of contemporary romance, and with the always-present action, mystery, suspense, family drama, laugh-out-loud humour and kickass epilogues, the woman can do no wrong!
