Things you need for a good Block Party:

1. Awesome food

2. Great Music

3. Fun games

4. A secret spot to hook up with your even-more-secret girlfriend.

Liam Edenhoff is a simple creature. He likes women, tacos, and sex. As long as he has those in his life, everything is good. He’s finally realizing maybe he’s just not cut out for relationships – surely there’s got to be a woman out there who’d be okay with roof top margaritas, casual sex, and no attachments.

Enter a new neighbor – one who is allergic to commitment and prefers her sex casual but frequent. She’s seen him at his worst and is still willing to play his games, on three conditions – discretion is a must, casual is key, and absolutely no drama. Sounds like the perfect arrangement. What could go wrong?

Famous last words when dealing with neighbors.

This story contains scenes of a graphic sexual nature, multiple uses of coarse language, and more tacos than is healthy or sane to read about. Reader discretion is advised.

This is the third installment in the Twin Estates series

Review

4 stars!

We are so different. A beautiful compromise. Or a disastrous combination.

Block Party is the third book in the Twin Estates series and focusses on Liam, the guy Katya did not choose. I will be honest, I was rooting for Liam and Katya in the beginning but by book two Liam really made me mad. I didn’t know how he could profess his feelings and not be true to Katya. Turns out she really wasn’t the one for him. He needed to find the person who was worth changing his ways for and he did in this book. I ended up loving Liam and am so glad his story was told.

Liam is successful in most aspects of life except with it comes to relationships. Losing the girl he thought he loved to his rival and ex-business partner, Wulf, was crushing but he knew he didn’t really deserve her. He’s been led around by his dick for far too long and because of that trouble seems to follow him wherever he goes.

Ayumi is Wulf’s executive assistant and still does book keeping for Liam. She works long hours and barely has a social life. When she finally goes out for a night on the town with Wulf’s girl Katya and her friend Tori to let loose, she never expects to end up at Liam’s place, stuck in a bathroom and propositioning the very man she should stay away from.

Block Party is funny, fast-paced and entertaining. I loved getting into Liam’s head and learning that there is so much more to him than we saw in the first two books. He’s misunderstood and has a lot on his shoulders. He has a big heart and cares about making people happy. He owns his mistakes and goes through a lot of growth in this book. He needed someone like Ayumi to break his cycle. To switch things up. And he doesn’t know quite what to make of his new feelings.

What the fuck is going on?
First they’re fucking in his laundry room. Then going their separate ways. Then she shows up on his doorstep and next thing he knows, they’re glimpsing each others souls in his mother’s house.

However, he is still the dirty talking Liam he was in the first two books and brings on the heat. He also adds whole lot of sweet into the mix too.

“Don’t you get it yet?” he whispered. “the moments when I’m with you, there are no other girls. No one else exists. You’re it. You are the moment.”

I loved meeting Ayumi. She doesn’t put up with Liam’s crap and isn’t like the other girls Liam sleeps with. She is witty, clever, and has a take charge personality. I loved watching her open up and shake her cold demeanor. Her childhood wasn’t easy and I understood the harshness of her character after learning about her past. She definitely has issues and I wished she wouldn’t push Liam away as much as she does.

“I care about you,” she whispered to him. “But I’m a fucking mess right now.”
“Let me be messy with you,” he’s whispered back.

Even though they started with a physical relationship, I really enjoyed watching Liam and Ayumi get to know one another and seeing a good friendship form. They build each other up and let their true selves be seen when they have kept them hidden for so long. The banter between them was entertaining and the more they fought the hotter they got. They worked so well together!

Overall, Block Party is an enjoyable, sweet and sexy read with a great balance of fun and angst.

About the Author

Crazy woman from a remote location in Alaska (where the need for a creative mind is a necessity!), I have been writing since … forever? Yeah, that sounds about right. I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball – I also see shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I’m clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.

I like dogs more than I like most people, and I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t drink. No, I do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the year, there’s your Alaska lesson for the day. I have mermaid hair – both a curse and a blessing – and most of the time I talk so fast, even I can’t understand me.

Yeah. I think that about sums me up.
