5 “Pain. Hope. Fire. Love.” stars!!

Oh my heart! Rush by Emma Scott is phenomenal. A story of love and understanding, acceptance and growth. Of healing and letting go, moving on but not forgetting. Beautifully depicted and deeply emotional, this book has found a special place in my heart and is a new favorite!

Noah was an adrenaline junkie who enjoyed life to its fullest while chasing the rush. Extreme sports were worth the risk, the danger adding more excitement; however, in a blink of an eye everything changes. After an accident leaves him blind, Noah is broken, alone, and so very lost. Until Charlotte.

“What does he need?”

He smiled sadly. “Someone who stays.”

This gorgeous story is both heartbreaking and heartwarming and the immense emotion it provoked deep inside me has stayed with me long after I turned the last page. There are so many feels and they really got to me!! Noah loved life and after the accident he was forever changed. I felt the fear, pain, and regret. The sadness that engulfed him that made him feel like life wasn’t worth living broke me. I could imagine him crawling out of his skin, antsy to do the things he loves but without the sight to be able to do them ever again. No longer in control of his life, he is merely existing now and I felt the turmoil between trying and giving up. The self-loathing is unbearable, and Noah’s vulnerabilities made him real.

Charlotte is beautiful inside and out. Her talent as a violinist is spectacular. She has a huge heart full of empathy and love. She is a hard worker, especially when she puts her mind to something. After a tragedy that broke her, she lost her way. She lost the music that flowed through her veins and I felt her pain and heartache as if it were my own.

Noah wore his pain like a spiky set of armor. Mine was buried down deep where I could pretend it didn’t exist and so get through the day, but in the end, it was the same thing, wasn’t it?

Rush is a beautiful love story about two broken souls whose chance encounter makes all the difference in their lives. It’s love, acceptance, and support that ultimately helps them become whole, and together, the pain within their hearts begin to heal as the grow closer. It is a lovely, realistic slow burn romance and I loved watching them challenge each other as they shift from strangers to meaning everything to one another. Realizing they are not alone they form a bound that breaks down the walls they built around their hearts that no one breached before. It’s beautiful watching them open up to each other and accepting their feelings for each other.

My endless black was never going to go away. That was certainty. But kissing Charlotte had been a burst of light streaking across it, like a comet.

I loved that Rush was written in dual POVs. Getting into Noah’s head showed us the good that was hidden inside when he all he showed the world was darkness. He was sweet and thoughtful and totally swoon worthy when he opened his heart. I loved the growth Charlotte and Noah go through as the story progresses. The path to unending love and happiness is a difficult one for them but they are mature, understanding, and show unwavering support which helps them find their way. All of the pain they experience is worth it because love prevails and I couldn’t have imagined a better ending. With a heart so full, I couldn’t stop the tears from streaming as I finished this spectacular book. I loved Noah and Charlotte’s story and am desperate for more. Endless Possibility, here I come!!

Love, real love, wasn’t empty, grasping hands, or lies that felt like truths. And it wasn’t perfect or neat or always easy. It was a rising sun on a new day.
It was endless possibility.
