** Roma King is part one in the Roma Royals Duet series. The second and final book in the series, Roma Queen, will be released early February 2019**

“911. What is your emergency?”

Every night, Zara Llewelyn picks up the phone and assists people in distress. House fires. Assault. Motor vehicle accidents. Home invasions…

Between the hours of six and two, she is the answer to a thousand cries for help. But when the payphone outside Zara’s apartment building mysteriously begins ringing night after night, the very last thing she wants to do is pick it up. And yet, she can’t seem to help herself…

Pasha Rivin’s trying to outrun fate. He’s been running from it for years now, but escape isn’t in his cards. As the oldest son of the oldest Roma family in the country, he’s not just a member of a proud and fiercely traditional clan. He is their reluctant king…and now he’s expected to find a wife.

The fiery redhead that shows up on his doorstep, following a trail of breadcrumbs, hunting for a missing little boy, is the last person Pasha’s mother has in mind, however.

She’s an outsider, an intruder, and as far as his family are concerned, she’s not welcome on their land, let alone in their king’s bed.

Pasha has never allowed his destiny to stand in the way of what he wants, however. And he’s never wanted anything more than he wants the girl with the burning green eyes.

4.5 stars!

Wow. This book is definitely a surprise! The first book in Callie Hart’s new Roma Royals duet, this is a unique romantic mystery/suspense that is raw and gritty with a touch of supernatural. I was captivated from the very beginning, sucked into the intriguing world of these characters, desperately needing to know more, more, more, and I loved it!

Zara Llewellyn is a 911 operator who is thrown into a mystery when she takes a call from a young boy asking for help for his brother. It’s a call she can’t get out of her mind, and when she learns that the little boy is missing, she makes it her personal mission to help find him.

Pasha Rivin is an alpha badass through and through. He was raised as a Roma (a travelling gypsy), surrounded in proud tradition and destined to be their king one day. But he left the family years ago, leaving his past behind and embracing freedom and the stability that he has found in his new life – running his own tattoo studio and cage fighting like any good badass would. But now the Roma have returned, and his mother is insisting that Pasha take his rightful place among the clan – and that includes taking a Roma wife.

Life would be so easy if I went back to them. Money, adoration, respect — I really would have it all. But the one thing I wouldn’t have, far more valuable to me than any of that, would be missing. Gone forever, never to be seen again.
My freedom.
I would no longer be
free.
And my freedom is worth more to me than anything else in the world.

When Zara’s search leads her to the Roma, she and Pasha meet and, much to the horror of his mother, they share a connection that will be life changing for both of them.

Pasha Rivin is a smart mouthed, arrogant, smug piece of shit. I’ve already decided this, and I’ve barely even spent any time with the man. He’s certainly not the kind of guy I’d want to date. Definitely not the kind of guy I’d involve myself with any way.

She has no idea how fiercely I will protect her. She has no idea how impossible it will be for her to walk away from me after this.

Oh my God, the chemistry in this book! I don’t want to go into details about the romance because you just need to experience it, but it was nothing that I was expecting, and yet it’s perfect for this book. This book has a sense of the mystical about it and that extends to the love story, which is passionate, intense, and all consuming.

I’m not sure if I’m ready for him to sweep into my life and take it over just yet. Because I know myself, and weirdly I think I know him, and this is it. This is real, whatever that might mean for us, and there will be no backing out. There will only be life before Pasha, and the rest of my life with Pasha.

And SO freaking hot! There’s not a lot of sex, it’s more quality than quantity, and just… damn.

“You really think I’m going to let you into my bed?”
… “I don’t care where you let me,” he whispers, his voice thick, and ragged – so rough, I can almost feel the coarse edge of it against the hyper sensitive skin of my neck. “Your bed. Your living room. Up against your front fucking door. Down an alleyway on the way back to your apartment. It doesn’t matter to me,” he growls. “So long as you let me make you come.”

We both know how hot this will be. We both know how dirty, dark, fucked up and depraved it could and will be, if we’re both honest with each other.
I need her to share her darkest fantasies with me. And once she has, I will reward her by delivering every single one of them to her on a silver platter.
My little firefly makes a small, anxious sound, but I can see it all there in her eyes, boiling just beneath the surface. “Be brave,” I command. “You never have to hide who you are from me. I already see it. I already see
you.”

But though they seem so perfect together, they do have their hurdles. Zara will never be accepted in Pasha’s world, and even though he is being dragged back into it, he’s not sure it’s a world he even wants. And what is their mysterious bond all about?

“You’re no nightmare, Zara Llewellyn. You’re every single beautiful dream I’ve ever had. And I don’t plan on letting you go now.”

And then there’s the pay phone outside of Zara’s apartment that incessantly rings until she picks it up, with a mysterious person on the other end who seems to have nefarious motives of their own. It’s creepy and suspenseful, and it builds to a cliffhanger that left me with even more questions! I’m hooked and I need to know more, and I’m so glad that book #2 will be out in a month because I’m not ready to let go of this world just yet.

I loved this book. I love the world that Callie has created and the interesting blend of characters that she’s put into it. The different facets of the book blend together to create a fantastic story, and I can’t wait for more of Pasha and Zara’s story!

“I’ll be the man you deserve. I’ll give you more than happiness. I’ll give you all your dreams, because you’re giving me mine.”

4.5 stars!
