Max Kaufman was kicked out of his home as a teen and his life has been an uphill battle ever since. From addiction and living on the streets, to recovery and putting himself through nursing school, he’s spent the last ten years rebuilding his shattered sense of self. Now he’s taken a job as a private caretaker to Edward Marsh III, the president and CEO of one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. Max soon learns Marsh’s multi-billion-dollar empire is a gold and diamond-encrusted web of secrets and lies.

The longer Max works and lives with the Marsh family, the tighter the secrets tangle around him. And his heart—that he’s worked so hard to protect—falls straight into the hands of the distant, cold, and beautiful son of a dynasty…

Silas Marsh is set to inherit the family fortune, but his father is determined his heir be the “perfect” son. Before Silas can take over the company and end its shady business practices, he must prove himself worthy…and deny his true nature.

Silas must choose: stand up to his father by being true to himself and his undeniable feelings for Max. Or pretend to be someone he is not in order to inherit everything. Even if it means sacrificing a chance at happiness and real love.

Review

5 stars

Wow! Someday, Someday takes you on an emotional rollercoaster of highs and lows and everything in between. It’s original, captivating, and unputdownable. A wonderful mix of light and dark, pain and healing, laughter and strife, and I loved it!

Max was shunned by his parents when he came out and his life spiraled out of control. He hit rock bottom and then fought his way back to the top. Silas was punished for being himself and the only way he could survive was to turn off his feelings and become someone else. He was good at pretending but then Max walked into his life and his heart started beating again.

Silas and Max’s love story is far from easy but it fills your heart with hope, healing, forgiveness, and above all, love. There is so much love to help fight the hate in the world. The hate that should never have been inflicted on Max and Silas in the first place.

This book is full of all the feels. With every turn of the page my heart broke a little more. The demons that plague Max and Silas made me cry. Their feelings, fears, and vulnerabilities are so real. Their experiences, though different, are harrowing and tragic and hit you like a punch to the gut. But the love that grows between Max and Silas takes away the pain and makes you believe in happily-ever-afters.

This story is a slow burn romance that is well paced and believable. Even when Silas pushes him away, Max offers friendship and understanding and refuses to give up. But it is not just a friendship that forms the more time Max and Silas spend together. They light a fire inside each other that’s both scary and exciting. Even when it’s denied, their chemistry is palpable. Bottling up their feelings only make the sexual tension greater until they can’t fight the pull they have over each other. The depth of the emotion they feel is beautiful, and their connection is intense, frenzied, and breathtaking.

Silas kissed me as if he were suffocating and I was his breath, his life…as if he only had a few seconds of us before it was taken from him.

I have so much love for this story even when it broke me. I cried ugly tears for what Max and Silas go through and happy tears when they learn to love themselves and love each other. They grow at different paces but they both begin to heal and hope for a future full of love, and they grasp it. They deserve happiness and the love they share because in the end, love is love and that is what matters.

“I’ve been waiting my whole life to feel what I’m feeling right now. I could’ve waited longer.”

Overall, Someday, Someday is another Emma Scott masterpiece that has truly moved me. I felt everything when I read it, and it easily deserves its place on my favorites list!
