Blurb

I’m the type of girl who’s given up on fairy tales. So when Beck – the hot new busboy at work – starts flirting with me, I know better than to get my hopes up. Happily ever afters aren’t for the average. I learned that the hard way.

But how can I be expected to resist a man who can quote Austen, loves making me laugh, and seems to be everything hot and good in this world?

Only there’s so much more to him than that.

Billionaire playboy? Check.
Troubled soul? Check.
The owner of my heart, the man I’ve moved halfway across the country to be with, who’s laying the world at my feet in order to convince me to never leave? Check. Check. Check.

But nobody does complicated like the one percent.

This is not your everyday rags-to-riches, knight-in-shining armor whisking the poor girl off her feet kind of story. No, this is much messier.

Review

4 stars!

Alice has no idea what she is getting into when she falls for the busboy at the LA bar where she waitresses. She is shocked to learn that Beck is a billionaire when he is called home to Denver to deal with family matters. Beck wants Alice to come with him but she’s not sure if she is ready to move halfway across the country for someone she just met.

“You want to be with me and I want to be with you. Enough excuses. Take the leap, Alice. Promise I won’t let you fall.”

When Alice goes to Denver, she is thrown into the world of the ultra-wealthy. Along with more money than she could ever imagine, she sees how wealth brings with it secrets and lies and expectations she never anticipated. And with everyone seemingly against them, can they make their relationship work or will their differences ruin the love they’ve just found?

The Rich Boy book is fast-paced and entertaining with wonderful characters, an intriguing and original storyline, and a beautiful love story. It is an easy story to devour and I loved it!

Beck is fascinating. There’s something about him that draws you in. It’s not just his looks, it’s the mysterious air he has about him. I liked him from the start and couldn’t help but fall harder for him as he opens up to Alice. He’s swoony and sweet, and he likes her for who she is.

Alice is a wonderful heroine. I loved that she was true to herself. She may have insecurities but she is who she is and she is perfect for Beck. I loved that she doesn’t need to prove anything to him and he doesn’t expect her to change. She holds her own and is nothing like the girls he’s been with, and I loved that she was a breath of fresh air.

Beck and Alice are amazing together. They have the same wonderful sense of humor and the banter is fantastic. I loved watching their friendship grow and it’s a whirlwind romance that made we warm and fuzzy inside. They are super functional and honest as a couple. Never once did I question their feelings even if they jumped into a relationship rather quickly.

“I L you.”
“You L me?”
“It could be
like. It could be love. I honestly can’t tell anymore…
There’s just this whole mass of feelings inside me about you so I figured I’d put it out there. Full and frank disclosure and all that.”
“Beck…”
“‘I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun.’”

They take things relatively slow though. It’s more about building a relationship than just acting on the extreme attraction. The lack of sexy time in the beginning actually does a great job at building the sexual tension until it combusts, and I loved it!

There is very little angst and I really enjoyed that. They definitely hit road blocks as they figure out how they fit in each other’s lives but I felt everything is handled maturely. I was actually expecting something big to happen and when issues finally come up, I was relieved that it wasn’t just drama for the sake of drama.

Overall, I really loved Beck and Alice. Their love story is unconventional but it worked so well. I enjoyed getting to know the other Elliots too! I’d love to get Emma and Matias’ love story, especially after what happens to them in this book. And though Ethan rubbed me the wrong way in the beginning, I liked him more as we got to know him, and I would love for him to get his HEA!! “Things are never dull with the Elliots,” and I want more!!
