“Roses are red, violets are blue, stay away from Andrew Watson’s *ahem* because no other women ever do.”

That’s quite the way to start a conversation at a casual lunch, huh? Grilled chicken, French fries, and pelvic-fatigue, oh my!

And that’s not even the worst of it.

My friend Raquel didn’t pull any punches when she warned me about my brand-new costar and his notoriously player-esque ways. Apparently, my most important mission on my first role in a feature film is to stay immune to his charms.

Are you kidding me? Production costs on this movie are in the hundreds of thousands a day, and staying away from a panty-whispering, vajayjay-charmer is supposed to be at the top of my list? Pfft. Puh-lease.

It doesn’t matter that he’s annoyingly attractive, uber rich, crazy famous, and lusted after by ninety percent of the female population; Andrew Watson is trouble with a capital T—especially for a woman like me.

As a preventative measure, I’ve decided to go ahead and hate him.

Don’t worry, you guys, I’m completely in control. There’s absolutely no way I’m going to do something stupid like fall in love with him.

I can hate the player but still secretly love his addictive game.

I’m sure of it.

4 stars!

Birdie Harris has been warned away from Andrew Watson by her sister and her friend from the moment she found out she was auditioning for a movie role opposite him. He’s a celebrity and a known player and she has no intention of falling for his charm.

From their first interaction, Birdie and Andrew butt heads. He’s cocky and full of himself and she isn’t having any of it. She gives as good as she gets when he tries to get under her skin and they become sworn enemies. However, with the movie guaranteeing they get up close and personal, the time they spend together starts to change their attitude. They realize that sometimes first impressions couldn’t be farther from the truth, and soon the feelings they pretend to have on screen become more real than they ever could have imagined.

Hate the Player is such a fun rom com. I loved diving back into the Hollywood series and getting Birdie and Andrew’s story. Birdie is sweet and sassy and a very talented musician. I loved that she stepped out of her comfort zone and tried her hand at acting. Her vulnerabilities made her relatable and I loved seeing her growth. Andrew comes across as a jerk in the beginning but once he showed us his sweet side I fell for him quickly. He was so wonderful to Birdie when she needed him most and I loved it!

In the beginning, Birdie and Andrew are like oil and water, and their banter is fantastic and the story is hilarious. Their interactions bring out the feisty side of Birdie and I loved that they go from 0-60 in a blink of an eye. They seem to be complete opposites but there is no denying the chemistry between them. The attraction they try to ignore wins out and they can’t hide it when they are on screen. They are best when they let go and give in to the sexual tension that has been mounting. They are exactly what the other didn’t know they needed and in the end they had to decide whether they were on the same page.

There’s a little bit of drama but it’s not over the top. It doesn’t last long and I loved the way the story wraps up. The epilogue is totally swoony and I couldn’t have been happier with the ending.

I loved Birdie and Andrew’s story but I have to add that I am so happy to get more of Billie and Luca, from Taming Hollywood’s Baddest Boy, and Rocky and Harrison, from Winning Hollywood’s Goodest Girl!! They are such a fun group and I love seeing them all together again. Another hit from this author duo!!
