4 stars!

A beautifully romantic story that asks the question – what if you met the right person at the wrong time?

Kiran and Mason are both holidaying solo in Florida. They are staying at the same hotel, both needing to get away from the real world for a little bit while they prepare for the next stage of their lives – Kiran is making major life decisions about her career while Mason has just finished Marine boot camp and is about to deploy overseas.

It’s the absolute wrong time for either of them to be meeting somebody, but neither of them can resist the draw, and they start hanging out together. With nothing to lose, they talk about everything, they are open and honest with each other, and Mason helps Kiran deal with some personal issues she’s trying to overcome, encouraging her to be brave and bold and live the life she wants. And in the middle of some fantastic banter and flirting, they become friends and they fall completely and utterly in love.

They always knew the end of their time together was coming, but at the end of their eight days, neither of them are ready to say goodbye. So, they make plans to go their separate ways and do what they need to do, and if they still feel the same in five years when Mason has finished his deployment, they will meet up again.

“This is unfair.”
“It’s a raw hand. But sweetheart, know this, I wouldn’t trade these days for anything in the entire world. We just met at the wrong time.”

It’s a beautiful, beautiful romance, and I loved watching Kiran and Mason fall for each other. It’s so easy and natural! They laugh and banter, they are sweet and swoony, and they have an incredible passion for each other. I could feel everything along with them as they fell so easily in love, and I loved every moment of it.

But five years is a long time, and life will change in ways they never could have imagined. And so, we get the second-chance portion of the story, which brings the drama and the feels, but maintains the romance that I loved so much about their whirlwind beginning.

“If you let me, I’ll love you till my last breath.”

I really enjoyed this book. It’s functional and romantic, with just the right amount of drama, and I finished it with a huge smile on my face.

Just gorgeous – 4 stars.
