Timing is everything.

Presley Hale and Sebastian Vargas are no strangers to goodbye. Their high school summers were spent wrapped up in each other until she would inevitably go home to California. One season after college, Sebastian finally escaped the little Texas town to travel the world, and they said goodbye for what they thought might be the last time.
Sebastian went one way. Presley went the other.

For the first time in five years, they’re both in town, but the timing is no better than ever. So the only thing to do is what they do best. Keep it casual.

Friends with benefits.

They’ve done it before—doing it again will be easy.

But their hearts don’t get the memo.

When the lines of their arrangement blur, Presley and Sebastian are faced with decisions they’ve avoided for years. And that’s not even their biggest problem.
A small town in danger of failing.

A secret that could tear them apart.

And two hearts that can’t hide anymore.

They’ve shared so many summers, but none compare to what they’ll face.

Timing is everything.
And their time is almost up.

Review

4.5 stars!

I love Friends with Benedicts! It’s a sweet friends-to-lovers, second chance romance that will have you laughing, swooning, and falling in love with Presley and Sebastian!

There has always been something between Sebastian and Presley. Though they shared mainly summers together as casual lovers, it didn’t stop them from developing deep feelings for one another. Unfortunately, other than summers, they just couldn’t be together, and when Sebastion leaves town for good, their summer love ends.

Now, it is five years later and Presley and Sebastion are finally back in town at the same time. It’s been a while but the feelings they have for each other are still very real but everything is different now and Sebastian doesn’t know what is coming when he sees Presley again.

I really enjoyed this story and loved the alternating points of view. We get to see just what Presley is going through and what Sebastian thinks when the carpet gets pulled out from under him. I was nervous to see how it would all play out because storylines like the one in this book can go very wrong. It has to be handled in the right way and I think it was done well in this story. There were circumstances that lead them to where they are now and what they mean to each other, and though it’s heartbreaking it was understandable.

Presley is so strong and she has had to do everything on her own. Always seeing Sebastian leave as he followed his dreams makes it hard for her to see a future with him even when things are going well. Sebastian is so real. His fears are believable and I understood what it was that shaped him into the man he is today. I understand his need to make a difference in the world and admire him for that. I love that even when his life is thrown a curve ball, he goes all in and really shows Presley his love. He is such a swoony guy with all the sweet things he thinks and says.

I loved Presley and Sebastian and how everything between them plays out. I felt their connection. I felt their hope and their fears. I loved the heat and humor they produce, and I loved their love. It’s real, it’s strong, and it encompasses more than just the two of them.

There is some drama and heartache but I love how everything comes together at the end. I couldn’t have been happier with the way things happen, and I think the epilogue is the perfect way to wrap up this story. I loved it and can’t wait for more from the town of Lindenbach and its residents!!

About the Author

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life — a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, though she’s certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she’s been drinking whiskey. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.
