Blurb

Against all odds, Kerrigan Argon passed her dragon training. She’s now an official member of the Society. Everything should be well. But somehow, nothing is.

Her dark prince, Fordham Ollivier, has disappeared.

An unwanted wedding looms in her future.

And the council election draws ever nearer. An election that she’s been unceremoniously nominated for.

If all of that wasn’t enough, the Red Masks, an anti-half Fae, anti-human terrorist organization, are gaining ground. All because they have a spy inside the mountain, inside the Society itself.

Someone is leading these monsters.

And Kerrigan is determined to stop them at all costs.

Review

4 stars!

Kerrigan is back and House of Curses takes her on a journey through good and evil and everything in between.  It brings us all the magic and mystery we love as well as romance, friendship, and chaos as Kerrigan fights for her place in the world and against an anti-half Fae, anti-human terrorist organization all while dreading a wedding where her prince is not the groom.  Kerrigan has allies but her enemies are closing in, and since there is a spy in the Society, she doesn’t know who to trust. Add in her training, the fact that Fordham is missing, and the secrets she doesn’t even know about, she is being pulled in all different directions. She has an uphill battle but she refuses to give up.

I love Kerrigan.  I love her strength, confidence, and determination to fight for what she believes in. Her character grows with every book and I love discovering all she can do as she learns about her abilities. We also learn more about her bloodline and who her mother really is. New twists bring more confusion when all she wants is answers.

Fordham is missing nearly half the book and I was anxious to have him back. I loved the lead up to when he’s found and the reunion is fantastic.  Kerrigan and Ford are meant to be together and I love the way they love each other.  The emotion is real and their connection is believable. And Ford is swoonier than ever. They are stronger together and I love when they fight as a team.

In the previous book we found out that the leader of the Red Masks, known as the Father, is someone close to Kerrigan. The Father has his plans and leaves us with nothing but chaos and destruction at the end. He has the power to do the unthinkable and it is awful. I just wanted to scream to her who it was the entire book until it is finally revealed. The ending sets the scene for the next book, House of Gods, and I cannot wait for it. I need to see how everything plays out especially when there is so much stacked against Kerrigan.
