This is a really sweet read. A follow on from the wonderful A Pound of Flesh, it allows us the opportunity to catch up with Kat and Carter, seeing them together, happy and very much in love, and further adjusting to their new life together.

“I need you.”
“Peaches…You have me. You always have.”

There’s nothing ground-breaking that happens in this novella, it’s more of an extended epilogue, but there’s something really gorgeous about seeing these two characters together. They are so in sync with each other, so in love, and so incredibly passionate, I really enjoyed catching up with them.

“You’re everything to me.”
Kat nodded. “I know. That’s why I’m marrying you.”

There’s a bit of an introduction for Max’s book up next. The boy has some pretty big demons, and I’m really looking forward to diving into his story.

Not a must-read, but still enjoyable for fans of the first book.

3 stars.
