5 stars!

“You’re the color in my black and white world.”

I loved this book and can confidently say that EgoManiac is one of my favorites by Vi Keeland. The hilarious beginning was catchy and it sucked me into this story. I couldn’t get enough of this fun, fresh story.

Drew is a hot shot attorney with an ego to match and money to spare. He is a divorce lawyer and the experience with his own divorce makes him work even harder for his clients. Returning from a much needed vacation, he gets a huge surprise when he arrives at his office.

Emerie meets Drew when he breaks into her office. Only, it isn’t her office. It is actually his and she suddenly realizes that she has been scammed big time. Out ten grand, she is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Taking pity on her, Drew gives her a temp job and allows her to work from his place until she gets a place of her own for her business.

Working out of the same office makes for an interesting combination when they are complete opposites. Emerie works “to save troubled marriages” whereas Drew works “to dissolve them permanently. Drew and Emerie are also extremely attracted to one another and they try to fight it, but really its no use. Quickly these characters become friends, even though they fight like cats and dogs, and we get to see a beautiful romance begin. However, no relationship is perfect and when Drew and Emerie are faced with new challenges, are they strong enough to overcome them?

EgoManiac was such a fun read. It was sweet and sexy, with a ton of humor, and just enough drama to balance out the light-heartedness. It is full of emotion and I enjoyed every bit of this story, including the painful parts.

I loved Drew and Emerie. Their characters were well-developed, relatable, and likable, and though they were great individually, they shone together. Talk about scorching sexual tension. The chemistry is off the charts the banter is fantastic. They end up fighting more than not but that just added to the electricity crackling around them.

Drew was sexy and smart and will get you all worked up with that sweet and dirty talking mouth of his. I loved that he was such a wonderful, selfless character but still knew what he wanted and was willing to take it when he finally came to his senses.

“I don’t have it all planned yet, but we’ll figure it out. It won’t be easy, but it’ll be worth it. I love you, Emerie. I’d go three hundred sixty-four days thirsty if it meant I got to drink you in for just one.”

*swoon*

Emerie is sweet, kind-hearted, sassy, and beautiful inside and out. I loved how genuine and caring she was and that she believed in her work. She also had a way of calming Drew’s storms that always made me smile.

The friendship between Emerie and Drew felt real and naturally progressed to more. I saw the trust, love, and understanding they shared with each other and it made their relationship believable.

Somewhere between the fighting and the clothes-ripping angry sex, I’d fallen madly in love with an unexpected man at the most inconvenient time. And it turned out to be exactly what we both needed.

Both have a lot going on in their lives and I liked that those things weren’t downplayed or over-the-top. There was just enough drama to add more depth and seriousness to the story but nothing that was unnecessary or stupid. EgoManiac was still a fun, light-hearted read that left me smiling from ear to ear and had a gorgeous epilogue giving us the perfect ending to this love story.
