I love this one!

I love Meghan March’s duets. I know I’m going to be reading something hot and steamy but with a lot of heart. I love her gorgeous alphas and strong heroines, and Boone Thrasher has absolutely stolen my heart!

Boone has been a part of the Meghan’s Real / Dirty books from the very beginning. Though each of her duets can very much be read as standalones, there are links between the characters and his story had a great introduction at the ending of the Real Duet, and I have been desperate to get my hands on his book, which did not disappoint.

Boone is known as country music’s bad boy. He’s a huge star but is incredibly down to earth and a genuinely nice guy who has dreams of a happy and quiet life with a wife and kids. This book begins with his plans of proposing to his girlfriend falling to pieces in epic style, leaving him questioning whether his relationship was even real. Needing to drink his dramas away, a friend drags him to a run-down bar in Nashville, where he meets Ripley Fischer.

Ripley has been running her family’s bar for years. Though it used to be a happening place, now it barely covers costs, yet despite it’s tragic history and her family’s appalling treatment of her, Ripley perseveres, determined to make the bar a success again. Ripley’s past means she is wary of all things celebrity, and when Boone Thrasher walks into her bar, she is less than impressed.

I want to hate him. Everything about him. He shouldn’t make me want to climb him like a mountain to plant a flag at the top saying RIPLEY WAS HERE. No way. No how.

From the very beginning there is fantastic chemistry between Boone and Ripley. They are both wildly attracted to each other but neither of them are looking to start anything. But after being unable to forget about each other, one drunken night will change everything when their draw to each other proves too much to resist.

“You should be careful offering a man like me whatever I want. I’m not afraid to take it.”

OMG, Meghan March writes sizzling sexy time, and Boone and Ripley are on fire together. Boone is a dirty talker, and Ripley completely lets loose with him, and it’s hot as hell. And they very quickly realise that once night together is never going to be enough.

I want her. I want all that rage burning through her underneath me. On top of me. Wherever the hell I can get her.

I love these two together. Of course their chemistry makes things lots of fun, but they just seem to fit. Ripley initially fights her feelings but Boone is having none of it, and I love the slightly snarky dynamic between them as things start to develop.

She wants me. I know it. She knows it. Now the question is— what are we going to do about it?

They talk, they open up to each other and I loved their honesty as they begin to share their lives. But Ripley wants nothing to do with the celebrity lifestyle, and Boone is a constant target of the paparazzi. And with her family causing dramas, and a twist thrown in there at the end, these two aren’t getting their HEA just yet.

“I need…more.”
“Sugar, I’m gonna give you everything.”

I really loved this book. It’s a quick read, but it’s a wonderful beginning to Boone and Ripley’s story. I loved Ripley’s strength and determination, and her ability to just go with the flow and do what needs to be done to get by. And Boone… dayum. The man is hot as hell of course, but he’s a sweet country boy at heart, and I loved his sweet side which blends perfectly with his alpha-ness as he recognises that Ripley is exactly what he wants, and goes for it. They are a great match, and I can’t wait to see where their story is going to go from here.

4.5 stars.
