Passionate and intense, this is the almost-conclusion to Brynne and Ethan’s intense love story, and the third book in the Blackstone Affair series. And while there is still more story to tell, this book does tie up a some of the loose ends – most notably, the ongoing threat against Brynne that initially brought Ethan into her life. It also brings Ethan and Brynne into a whole new stage of their relationship, and it’s a sexy swoonfest from start to finish!

This book picks up immediately after the ending of All In and for the first time, we get the story in dual POV, which I really enjoyed, especially as there is some pretty big stuff going down in this one – some surprising, as well as some very unsurprising reveals. And I loved the opportunity of watching them both deal with it all.

We get to see a whole new side of Ethan as we meet more of his family, and see him as the adoring and playful brother and uncle. But he is still the sexy Alpha that we all love – Brynne’s “kinky, foul-mouthed romantic gentleman lover” is in full on protective mode, dynamite in the bedroom, and full of dirty talk, and hugely swoony declarations of love.

“Are you real?” He whispered, brushing up my face with the back of his fingers in a cherishing caress. “Because I’ll want you forever.”

Yep, they’re still very full on, and what I really liked about this book is that there is minimal conflict between them. They have a lot to deal with in the story, but they don’t allow it to come between them. On the contrary, it only serves to bring them closer, and I love that no matter what they face, and despite their traumatic backgrounds, they are really functional together. They are madly, passionately, crazy in love, and are willing to do anything to stay together, and that only gets reinforced in this book.

“I know I’m a bit rough around the edges and I know I’ve trampled my way through your life, but I do love you with all of my heart. Never doubt that. You’re my girl, and I want you and I need you with me forever.”

In fact, even though I’m a big fan of swoony romance, there is so much love in this book, the gushing is almost excessive at times, but it is beautiful, and I was happy to just get swept along with it.

“Make me real. Only you can do that, baby. Only you.”

There is a gorgeously happy ending, but I am still looking forward to reading the next and final book in the series just to get every little gushy detail to their HEA.

3.5 stars.
