Review

The follow up to Tall, Tatted and Tempting continues the story of Emily and Logan and provides a gorgeous finish to their story, while setting up the next story for the Reed Brothers.

Just a warning that this is going to be spoilery if you haven’t read the first book in the series.

I fell in love with Emily and Logan while devouring the last book. Their story is amazing, and I felt so much emotion watching them overcome their issues and fall hard for each other. And now, Emily is back in New York and ready to reclaim her life – and her man. She still considers her time with Logan and his family as the happiest of her life, and she has now done her dues and is ready to get her HEA.

For three long months Logan has been waiting for his girl to come back to him, and their reunion is pretty freaking gorgeous.

“I’m so glad you’re home.” I use my voice because I don’t want to take my hands off her.
“Me, too,” she says. A lone tear tracks down her cheek. I wipe it away with the pad of my thumb.
“You’re back?” I ask.
She nods, turning her head to kiss my palm.
“For how long?”
“Always.” She smiles. God, she can undo me with that smile.
“Promise?”

Once again, I was completely swept up in the romance that is Emily and Logan together. They are so beautiful together, so in love, so passionate, so honest! And so determined to have a future together.

“Loved you then. Love you now.”

But OMG… DRAMA!!! Emily’s father and ex have come back to NYC with her, and what a couple of assholes! Both of them wanting Emily to fit into the life that they had planned for her, they are dismissive of what she wants, and completely dismissive of Logan. OMG, I have so much hate for these guys! Their behaviour is really deplorable, and I was starting to get annoyed with Emily for not dealing with them the way that I thought they should be dealt with – although Logan’s moments with them are pretty freaking epic!!

And then… MORE DRAMA!!!!! The big turnaround point…

Spoiler
I found it to be waaaay too sappy for my liking. The flip of Emily’s father was pretty much instantaneous and extreme to the max – yeah, I get that it was a big ‘reaching out’ moment, but it felt a little unrealistic and a wee bit OTT for me
And then more big drama at the end. Really? It wasn’t needed. It was intense and full of feels, and even though it didn’t ruin the story or anything, it just felt like too much.

But I did still love this book. Emily and Logan’s story is absolutely beautiful, and I love that even with everything they went through, there was no stupid behaviour between them. The issues that they had to overcome were all external to their relationship, and the whole time they stood strong, knowing that they were together and were going to stay together, and they rode it out as a committed, functional couple. And I loved that! Zero angst! Thank you Tammy Falkner!

Again, this is a really quick read, and I read this in one sitting, completely mesmerised by the story, and the easy yet addictive writing. Logan’s family again play a big part, and I loved the time we get to spend with them. There is a bit of a set up for Pete’s story up next, and I’m looking forward to continuing on with this series, and getting to know the Reed Brothers better – I freaking love them!

A beautiful finish for a beautiful love story – 4 stars.
