They say there’s no such thing as perfect.

But I’ve built my life to perfection—the perfect boyfriend, the perfect apartment, the perfect career planning celebrity weddings. My job—my only job—is to make sure every event is absolutely and completely perfect.

What’s not perfect? Kash Bennet.

And I wish I didn’t find that so appealing.

I could have told you every perfectly imperfect thing about the gardener at Longbourne. Like his hair, lush and black and far too long. Or his nose, the flat bridge of a Greek god, bent a little like it’s been broken. Or his size. Beastly. Roped and corded with muscles, gleaming with sweat and peppered with dirt.

There’s no escaping him, not if I’m going to use his family’s flower shop for my events.

But nothing is what it seems. And in the span of a heartbeat, my perfect life is turned inside out.

They say the best way to get over somebody is to get under somebody new. When Kash offers his services to the cause, it sounds like the perfect plan.

What’s not part of the plan? Falling in love with the gardener.

But they were right—there’s no such thing as perfect.
And I’m the fool who finds out the hard way.

4 stars!!

Love doesn’t care where you come from, only who you are.

Kash Bennet loves working in his family’s greenhouse, Longbourne, and has an eye for design. He doesn’t do serious relationships after having had his heart broken and he refuses to give it away again.

Lila Parker is a high-profile wedding planner who knows how to get the job done. She has a pretty sweet life until everything goes up in smoke. When her boyfriend cheats on her with a client, she realizes a rebound is just what she needs to get over him.

Lila hires Kash to head up the floral arrangements for one of the hottest weddings in town and they immediately butt heads. There is no denying the attraction they feel though, and when Lila starts thinking about a rebound, Kash becomes the prime candidate. However, with chemistry like theirs, can they keep things casual or will their relationship become more?

This book is a wonderful take on the enemies-to-lovers trope and it is so much fun. From the fantastic banter to the sexy times, Lila and Kash keep us entertained. They dive into a causal relationship and everything seems perfect. They fight and bicker and get under each other’s skin, and I loved it. The back and forth only intensifies their connection. They challenge each other and give as good at they get.

Somehow it was a comfort, to know that even when I was at my biggest and loudest and most barkey, he could handle it. Handle me.

They are hot and heavy and know how to have a good time. They keep it light until they can’t deny the growing feelings, and when things shift, Kash and Lila have to determine if what they have is worth fighting for or if they were only meant to be a fling.

There was no way to separate myself from the truth—I was in over my head. I was at her mercy. And I couldn’t turn back if I wanted to.

Kash and Lila are intense and passionate. They fit together so well even though they are opposites. We see how different people are on the inside when they finally open up, and I loved watching they learn to trust again and loosen the walls around their hearts.

There is some angst and heartache that Lila and Kash face but I liked that it wasn’t over the top. The emotions are real and I felt what they were going through. Thankfully, it is not dragged on and everything is resolved nicely with a delightful epilogue.

Overall, Gilged Lily is another entertaining story in the Bennet Brothers series and I cannot wait for more. Mum’s The Word, Marcus’ story, is next and it sounds so freaking good!!

About the Author

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life — a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, though she’s certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she’s been drinking whiskey. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.
