Blurb

A massive hurricane looms off the coast of Florida while a different kind of storm is brewing in Logan’s beach.

A mysterious newcomer is vying for the title of King of the Causeway. He’ll do anything to steal the crown, including bringing someone back from King’s past who will threaten a lot more than the title King has spent his lifetime earning.

A hurricane is coming.

And it could destroy everything.

Review

“We’re in this life together.”

King is back, baby! 4 stars

I love this series so much, and am super excited for any opportunity to revisit with these characters. So, I was thrilled when T.M. Frazier announced that she was writing a novella revisiting original series couple, King and Ray.

This book takes place after book #9 in the series, Nine, but you could safely read it after you’ve finished Preppy, vol 3, and there is a brief “intro-fucking-duction” provided by a series fave which will recap you on some of the details. But beware that this book will have spoilers if you haven’t read the earlier books.

Written in dual POV, this book catches us up with King and Ray years after they met. Now happily married with a growing family, they are just as mad for each other as always.

“Hey, Pup.” His voice is a deep bravado that tugs on every nerve-ending in my body. I thought it would fade over time, but it hasn’t. Every day with him only amplifies my feelings.
Heart and body.

But trouble is brewing for King and his wife. Not only is a hurricane bearing down on Logan’s Beach, but there’s a new player in town – one determined to take King’s crown, and they are not afraid to hit close to home in order to do it. King and Ray’s strength will be tested yet again as they go all out to defend what is theirs.

“I’m behind you. All the way. Always.”
King shakes his head and lifts my chin so my eyes meet his. “No, Pup, your place isn’t
behind me. It is, and has always been, beside me.”

There’s a bit of drama unfolding at home as well, and Frazier has given us surprising emotional depth with this story – one that I thought was beautifully expressed and that shows the incredible connection and deep love between these two amazing characters.

“When you’re felling weak, I’ll be strong for you. If you can’t see, I’ll be your eyes. If you can’t hear, I’ll guide you. We’re only weak when we’re not a team. Together? We’re un-fucking-stoppable.”
My heart constricts in my chest. “You take my breath away.”
King holds my gaze. “You are my fucking breath.”

*heart-clutching swooooooon!*

Of course, their family-of-the-heart are right there with them, and Preppy in particular is on freaking fire in this one. Rude, crude, and utterly hilarious, but with a huge heart as always, I love, love, love him! Honestly, I love the whole bunch, and I loved the opportunity to check in with them all – especially seeing them and their kids all together and watching as their brood expands.

There’s an epilogue which finishes off the story beautifully, and with trouble still brewing, it’s a great lead-in to Pike’s story coming soon.

Dramatic, emotional, sexy and intense, this is a great addition to the series.

4 stars.

About the Author

T.M. (Tracey Marie) Frazier never dreamed that a single person would ever read a word she wrote when she published her first book. Now, she is a five-time USA Today bestselling author and her books have been translated into numerous languages and published all around the world.

T.M. enjoys writing what she calls sexy ‘wrongside of the tracks romance’ with morally corrupt anti-heroes and ballsy heroines.

Her books have been described as raw, dark and gritty. Basically, what that means, is while some authors are great at describing a flower as it blooms, T.M. is better at describing it in the final stages of decay.

She loves meeting her readers, but if you see her at an event please don’t pinch her because she’s not ready to wake up from this amazing dream.
