At last! The long-awaited story of Nate and Rebecca, and OMG, it was worth the wait! A delicious friends-to-lovers romance with humour, fantastic chemistry, and a fun, passionate and emotional love story. It was just what I was hoping for these two, and I freaking loved it!

Nate Kattenberger is a self-made tech genius and billionaire who bought an NHL team, moved it to Brooklyn and created the Bruisers. Rebecca has been Nate’s Office Manager since the early days before he made his fortune, was by his side through his meteoric rise to wealth and power, and is one of his most trusted friends. He’s also the woman he’s been in love with for years. In the last books of this series we’ve seen hints of Nate and Rebecca finally getting onto the same page, and after all of that build up, here we finally have their romance in all of its stunning glory.

Nate and Rebecca have been dancing around each other for years. We get to see glimpses of their past together, allowing us to understand their relationship, and the chemistry-filled dynamic between them. This book overlaps with the last few books of the series, going back to when a fall on the ice leaves Rebecca with a head injury, and Nate steps in to help. He promptly moves her into his home, and everything kinda snowballs from there. And I was bouncing up and down with anticipation as it all played out.

I could feel the chemistry between Nate and Rebecca. They’ve both wanted it for so long but because of their working relationship they’ve never even hinted about it to each other so there’s this sense of excitement watching every little look, every little touch and every little tease, just waiting for their truths to come out.

“How did we get so complicated?”
“Everything worthwhile is complicated.”

And like I said, it was well worth the wait. Hot, passionate and intense, and uniquely Nate and Bec with their teasing and in-jokes. These two are so absolutely meant to be, and I loved watching them open up and explore the attraction that they’ve had for so long.

“My life is constant noise… When you kiss me, everything goes quiet. That’s the only time I can forget everyone else.”

The book is written in dual POV, and I loved both of these characters so much! Their inner monologues are so entertaining, and the audiobook is brilliantly narrated by Zachary Webber and Virginia Rose, who bring them perfectly to life.

It’s not all smooth sailing, and they do have some ups and down, but I could completely understand their concerns, and they handled their situation honestly and functionally, and I loved that so much!

This is such a great read, and a fantastic addition to the series.

4.5 stars.
