The third standalone in the Ward Sisters series, this is a surprise pregnancy sports romance for Lia, and it’s such a sweet read.

Lia Ward is living the dream, spending a semester in London studying the Bronte sisters for her Masters. But what should be the best time of her life is actually kind of lonely without her loud and beloved family around. But she decides to embrace her opportunity and truly start having fun – and that’s when she meets Jude at a bar, they flirt and banter, arguing about football vs soccer, and they end up having a scorchingly hot hookup.

Jude is a professional soccer player who is struggling with his form and feeling a bit low when he meets the gorgeous young American. He is absolutely charmed by her, and though they go their separate ways in the morning, they stay in touch via text, are keen to meet up again.

And then Lia discovers she’s pregnant. It’s completely unexpected, and they are both completely unprepared, but they are in it together, there for each other, and they take it in stride. It makes everything between them more intense, and more important, and their story has a friends-to-lovers feel to it as they get to know each other, relish in their chemistry, and embrace the feelings that grow between them. It’s sweet and romantic, and these two are so freaking cute together. I loved how easy it is between them, but as much as they feel for each other, they don’t really delve into the deep and meaningful stuff, so when drama comes, it hits hard.

It may not have been what I wanted for these two, and I wish they would have talked more. I wish we could have been more of them together sorting through their issues, but it ends well, and we get to see the scenes that I wanted to see the most.

“ I don’t know what I did to deserve finding you that night because you were the catalyst, Lia. Whatever hope I’ve found for the rest of my life started with you.”

Another cute book for one of the Ward sisters. I’m looking forward to Isabel’s story up next to finish up the series.
